OK I'm sure I read somewhere that the new facelift Leon FR TDi was going to have a choice of manual or DSG. Am I right or just dreaming? If it is true when will I be able to order one in the UK?

Been to 2 Seat dealers, and neither seem to know. Think I'm losing it

it says there 6 speed dsg.
i thought that dry dsg had torque limits so it could not be used in more powerful cars.

Yep on the left it says: (available in manual or 6-speed DSG with paddles behind the wheel)

How do these dry and wet DSG's differ?

The dry plate one uses a conventional clutch similar to a regular clutch in a manual (except that it's a fancy concentric design) - it has 7 speeds. The lack of pump etc makes this gearbox simpler/cheaper to manufacture, but it can't handle as much torque as the wet version.

The wet plate one uses a pump to lubricate the clutch packs with special oil which makes them able to handle greater torque - this is the first generation design and has 6 speeds. It's the replacement of the special DSG oil which makes servicing the DSG models slightly dearer than equivalent manuals.
