Not had chance to give it the beans yet. I think the new tyres feel better, but then of course they are going to compared to tyres that were on the limits before.

I've heard the tyres are crap in the wet, but the Toyos were towards the end so we'll just have to wait and see.

Got some pictures to post up later of my latest step forward :D

where did you get the calipers shot blasted and painted? what was the cost and time scale?

also who did you use for your tracking?

I got the carriers shot blasted and powder coated at Black Bull Engineering. Used to be on Colley Lane, now on Bristol Road. Also known as Blast N Bake i think.

They charged £10 for both of them to be shot blasted and powdered coated! BARGAIN i thought!

And Bridgwater Tyres and Exhausts did the tyres and the tracking. £25 for laser alignment - cant be bad?

Next cheap mod - while I'm saving for brakes. I was gonna get something different aerial wise, but bought this instead.

When I got it:

Had to modify my drivers side splash guard as I was getting a loud cracking noise when i turned in hard right lock. I found out the droplink was twanging on the edge of the splash guard.

Splash guard before:

You can see where it was catching:

Had a look at the aerial tonight (Damogen you can get to the aerial through the back of the headlining. :D)

The fittings are different. The one on the car is like a push fit, with a neck around it that you have to pull back to release the two. The one on the new aerial is like the one that goes into the back of the headunit. So I'm gonna have to sort something out....

Can you get some pics of both connections, Ash?

Where did you get the shark fin from?

I should've taken pictures really. :(

I got the aerial from ebay.

The connector on the car is an small male and female connector, with a sliding sleeve that goes over the two. You pull the sleeve back and pull the aerial connectors apart. I've seen adapters that look alright on ebay - but am gonna go see the radio shop tomorrow and go from there. :)
