What ariel have you got at the moment. Hope your not going down the blue wheel route. Think it looks stunning as it is right now.

I've got the stand anti theft aerial and can't get it to come off for love nor money! So gonna replace the whole lot. ;)

Haha! You're tempted to try alot on your spare wheel! Last week it was black and polished!

And either an Audi Sharkfin - or an non VAG aerial - seen the one I think I'm going for......all depends if the fittings will be the same and if it'll fit to the roof.

But I need new tyres soon and want to finally get my 312mm brakes sorted - so they'll be next. More expense! Those two put together will be another £600 at least!

yourr still on standard brake, thought i'd read (many) pages back that you'd got these?
i'd get the brakes done first;)
you must be forcing a hole in the foot well trying to stop your car!

They look really nice behind 17" rims, but keep in mind that you cant mount 15" rims anymore which many have for winter use....

Yes, 312x25mm from Leon Cupra4 TDI, fits almost 1:1

They make a huge difference even with normal OEM discs/pads, with sport discs and agressive pads i guess they are quite "killer" on this little car*g*

Good lad! Well I wanna do something different with the aerial.

£600!! Blimey, that aerial mod must be damn expensive as the 312mm brake upgrade can't be more than about £250 all in?? (312mm carrier, discs, pads, fluid change)

Doh! Sorry for some reason my selective sight missed the bit about new tyres too...

civic stubby aerials fit!

how far out are the rear wheels spaced ash? could push them out more for very little money

tyres as you say are going to be a critical choice to get the best out of life and grip

not sure if you have relocated the air intake as they seem to be quite low down on the leon and ibizas, Unclefester has kepr the air box, but the feed is now up in the high front grill so i believe.

water methanol kit ?

move the battery to the boot to help weight distribution?

lots of little things you can do :)

Sorry to bring this up again Ash. Just want to add my two penneth ;)

Ive got to say, what alex is saying does make sense. Its alrigth making all these copmparisons of petrol cars with more torque, but it doesnt come in anywere near as harsh as a hybrid TDi.

well then the mk4 he raced must have had something wrong with it! and the mk5 R32 that pulled away initially but he slowly edged back and stayed level with, must have been broken too ;)

Because it pulled back on an R32 doesnt mean it had more or equal power.
There are a number of factors to take into account.
The R32 is a heavier car, due to the extra drivetrain, so power to weight has a big effect. On the subject of drivetrain, with a 4 wheel drive car, there is much greater transmission losses. A 4wd car with 250bhp @fly, will produce less whp than a fwd car with 230@fly.
Also the torque of the TDI is much greater than that of a naturally aspirated petrol engine.

In my opinion it's a very meaningless comparison.

Haha! I did buy some 312mm brakes but they arent as good a condition as i'd like.....so gonna buy it all brand new. Well tyres have only got about 2000 miles left in them. 1000 if I drive properly. :p I did manage a drive back on a decent run last night at half 1 in the morning, properly gave it some and my god does it make you smile! :D

My standard wheels are 16's and I'll only be using those for the 1/4 mile. ;)

My air intake is right at the top of the slam panel, it's just low on the Leons. ;)

And I dont think moving the battery to the boot is REALLY gonna make much difference to how the car drives! Think I'm gonna go for Yoko Parada Spec 2's.....yeh they're crap in the wet, but you cant boot it in the wet with the Toyo's so makes no difference! Plus i dont drive like im on speed in the wet anyway. :D

Turned traction control off yesterday for the first time yesterday.......2nd lights up all the way to the red! I didnt realise how much difference traction control makes until yesterday!

Car looks awesome! Was gonna pop and meet you and sooty but was too late notice, was gutted!

How you finding the car? Rs tuning do a good job? Be good to know for the future:p

I'll be back up that way soon fella! Yeh RS did a good job and the car is awesome! The turbo whistle is sexy as hell!

brought bk to many good memories!!!! was such a nice car :)

You should've kept yours and gone more mental. ;)
