Re the injectors ... my bad, i thought you'd physically uprated them rather than stating thier true flow inconjunction with the 4 bar reg.:cheeky:
To be fair and i should have stated this i only fed the dynatwist from the stock wing feed position, due to being paranoid about water ingress from the fogs position.

Try a large jetex cone guys, not the ultimate solution but should raise your g/sec.
If the diablis wasn't so expensive i'd have a bash at moding a 2.0tfsi one to fit the lcr. it takes high air velocity without bends staight into the intake without any water issues.
The more air that can be fed into the turbo the less work it has to do.
i had good gains with a cutom 3 inch tip that i used to recommend whole heartly but others haven't achieved the same gains.

No worries :)

ill keep an eye on how you get on. just so you know, the figures ranked in this order in terms of CIA placement

1st - twin CIA
2nd - 1 CIA (fog)
3rd - no CIA
4th - CIA to behind headlight (stock)

ill be changing my induction side very shortly when i go BT so i should really start thinking about how im going to do it.

Might be tho aaron? your airflow is great, but what if you can get better im looking at this

Alltho Wooki said he seen better flow with one get got from flee bay.

ill keep an eye on your thread too hehe...

Alltho Wooki said he seen better flow with one get got from flee bay. If i move the batt i can gate a huge one in with modding the TIP like you talked about a while ago.

Also i have not seen any LCR flowing as much air as Aarons on the std K04 but Ed is flowing 204 with stage one @18 psi. Whats the limit of the KO4 flow wise?

Hey don't knock my Powertec its not an ebay special or anything just buy everything from ebay these days.....;) As i said before think i get best results with it as its stanless steel mesh rather than cotton or paper and therefore offers up less resistance.
Powertec was more expensive than the Green Cotton but worth a go.....

K04 max flow is tricky and pretty much unchartered territory.
My max stage 2 was about 204g/sec.
i then tweaked with v tune and upped my boost to about 1.16 red line which from memory delivered about 210 g/sec. this was on stock air filter and stock Tip. If i refitted my stock tubby, large open cone and custom tip i'd be confident about reaching 220g/sec . the better air flow should get me to 1.2 bar @ red line.

Hybrid.
1.35 bar at red line gets me 235g/sec +/-.
when i up boost to 1.5 bar at red line i would expect about 245 g/sec but i don't. The reason is not the the maff is maxed out but rather i feel the exhaust mani is maxed out and impeding any further gains. essentially becoming the bottle neck. Soon well have some high flow manis which will remedy this.
I honestly believe that with a high flow exhaust mani and a quallity intake system 300 bhp (give or take) will be possible on a stock tubby and 320 on a hybrid set up.

Interesting times ahead.

interesting indeed. thats a lot of flow

i always felt like i could get more from the standard K04 and i was always pushing towards the 300bhp mark (286 on the last attempt). if i didnt have a problem (cam chain?) im sure i would be nearer my goal. im afraid its all gone now and i will never know because the turbo is getting replaced when the cam chain is.

i hope you get to yours before anything stops you. as you said im sure its possible with the correctly tweaked setup.

I ran this monster on mine and it gave good flow but just got too hot under there, the next option was to run an air box like the evos with a vent in the bonnet to direct the air straight into the filter.

(Mocking up a heatshield/mount)

Everyone seems to stick with round pipe to feed the filters but a good way would be to run a rectangular section (or what ever fits best) mounted to the inside of the bonnet from the front of the car straight to the airbox/TIP. I think the BMW minis feed there intercooler with a similar deisgn?

Yes in deed. Nice to know 335 is doable on a stock mani.

Aaron, good find mate. Might be worth a look in to! Ill have to get an afternoon off and we can go down and see my uncle!!! Iv got further plans for increasing flow!!

Hehe thats huge... everyone has a different idea on induction and i dont think theres any right way of doing it (theres obvious thing to avoid of course). its good to see so much variation

She was showing around 220-225 on stock turbo from memory, i have got some logs on here somewhere, i will see if i can find them.

It maybe owrth looking at how much air flow is actually possible through the pipework as you could feed it with more than it needs and then its just drag on the car!

Thats a real bummer that.:(
Why not hybrid the k04, it will out spool any BT and over 300 bhp for chump change.

Everyone will tell you " thats wrong" or "this is better", i ran 3 different panel filters, smoothed boxes, cold feeds, 8 induction kits and in the end i made my own mind up and stuck with it as it was best for my set up with a combo of flow, looks and sound. What im getting at is trying the options is half the fun and my car goes far better online than it does on the road!

Too much air!!!! lol not possible :)

ive been thinking long and hard about this for a while and i am still not convinced i know where its going. ive crossed off IHI's both stg1+2 (power and price) ive also crossed off the hybrid (seems a lot of money for the xtra horses and no more lb/ft) but i hope you do well with yours, 320 will feels awesome with such a quick spool!

whats left for me -

the 2860 and the 71..... not much in it in price but the 71 requires some more parts to be purchased, by the end of friday ill know more.

the worst bit about all this is that im so busy at work these days (25hour shifts at times) that i will be giving my car to someone to do. i always thought id be doing my own build so im gutted!
