Service indicator question

Hi, Can I reset the service indicator Before the service is due?
Reason being When I bought my TDI FR it had done 4k and had its first service then cos it was 1 year old.
When they serviced it they must have forgotten to set it again and it still says due at 10k
Prob gonna change oil and filter at 10k anyway just in case they only stamped the book and never touched it but would like a Seat stamp in the book at 14k when it is due 10k on from the last stamp
Don't want to drive for 4k with the service light on
Place where i bought it is 85 miles away so not economic to take it there to have the light put out!!!

PS. I have access to a diagnostic tool that can set the service indicator

Isn't there a way of doing it by just pushing in the reset knob and turning the ignition? Something like that anyway!

Yes, done a search and found that out.
I was going by the Autodata Info we have at work. It says you need a diag tool
Wouldn't be the first time it was wrong

I'm in the same position - first service done at 2k/12 months just as I bought the car. I had been thinking of just getting the car serviced at 10k and falling back into the original schedule is this a bad/good idea?
