On another thread someone suggested i should get a bluefin plug and play handset as i dont want to permantly modify my car as its on finance. Has anyone got one if so what are they like? How do they work? and can you notice the difference?

Do it.. I put one on my FR about 2 weeks after buying it. Has made such a difference, drives so much better and has a lot more power. Its very easy to do, literally plug it into the port, follow the on screen instructions (turning ignition on and off and pressing yes) and you are sorted. :)

I'm thinking of remapping my Tfsi FR as it looks like i'll have to keep it longer than planned!!

What sort of economy difference does it involve, are you getting better or worse figures than before?

I was thinking of a Revo but as the nearest dealer is over 90miles away so a Bluefin could be ideal, also has anyone got any real world power graphs for us to see as the revo one do look a bit more impressive??

thanks

I wouldn't say don't do it but there are other options but you won't get such flexibility with others like you do with the Bluefin, like being able to just plug in and play and re-load a map instantly if ever a service wipes if off

£640 for the revo with vat and SPS.

P-torque costs less but it's not as easily switchable afaik? (extra £100 taking it over the bluefin and requires vag-com to switch) If it was as simple as the bluefin I'd go for it in a second as my old FR TDI remap rocked :D

£390 for a decent, easily switchable bluefin map that you can do at home seems like a good deal to me.

From looking at the graphs bluefin show the power increase on. Is the original one just a standard graph provided by Seat or just worked out to look standard or is it an actual graph of a real car before it got Bluefin'ed?

The only reason I ask is that I've seen a few people get their standard FR's on rollers and already have near 190bhp before any mods.

had my cupra running with a bluefin remap for 18 months now no probs great product and service/back indpendent dyno at 304 bhp the car still puts a smile on my face every time i boot it the dyno guy was very impressed with touque curve and said the map was crack on get about 18 ish mph when its hammered and between 22 /28 mph normal driving which is not very often as its hard to not want to play after its remapped have put it back to standard for a couple of services and you cannot beleive the difference the map makes soon as it leaves the dealers its back on its how it sould have come from the factory anybody not sure about a remap trust me on a cupra it will will been the best £500 you could spend only does 22/28 with standard map
