iive owned my ibiza FR for a few weeks now and ive really got into cleaning it properly.
when i bought it i knw the wheels were i na bit of a sorry state, 3 wheels have kerb marks on, the front 2 are quite badly kerbed and look as if they have had a DIY repair on as it looks like some sort of spray has been used.
i was wondering if any of you guys have used any wheels refurbishing companies and can recommend me one?
im in the west mids and want a good job done!
cheers

Im in Wolves and I was looking at getting mine done, there is a place in dudley that will do it for around £35 a wheel and thats a full refurb where there shotblasted and then sprayed, will try and get you the website. Other to that EF autospares on the Stafford Road near Mcdonalds they may do it for you, they are ok there.

Let me know where you go.

K N Wheels in telford also do wheel refurbs although they dont advertise it on there website.

This is what they told me when I emailed them
We are Alloy Wheel manufacturers and all refurbs are chemically stripped of the old paint and then processed as if they were new wheel production. This involves fettling, pre-treatment, polyester priming, wet painting , followed by polyester powder clearcoating.
The factory is indeed the one at Ketley and we are receiving refurbs between the hours of 9.00am to 4.30pm , Monday to Thursday, 2.00pm finish on Friday.
There are some colour options but surcharges may apply. The best approach is to bring the wheels to the factory and discuss what finish you require.
They wanted £30 plus vat per wheel up to 17'

I just done mine myself cost about £35 for materials and a few hours hard work.

They were silver and quite badly kerbed and scratched, I filled, flatted, primed and painted them satin black myself.

Look ok for £35 I reckon? :)

I take it you don't like them then?

Top coat is made by glasurit, Standox etch primer and Think the primer is U-pol, filler is proper metal filler 'chemical metal'

I used to do things like this for a living so no way I'm paying a bodyshop £50 a wheel to do excatly the same thing using excatly the same products .....by someone less qualified then me :)

No I like them, I just dont think I would be confident enough to do them myself. Although at the moment my wheels look awful and they probably couldnt look any worse than they do. I also figure I cant do anymore damage that I have done and could always get them powder coated at a later date.

No I didn't take the tyres off because there 8.5's and there was a gap between rim and tyre so I could easily get to the parts I needed to repair and paint.........I could of quite easily taken them off becuse they do need changing but that would have meant paying the tyre man twice.......and I'm tight :D

I did these ones to on my old car to, from silver to white with a red pearl, these cost about £50 to do and didn't take to much longer.
