look at my first post in this thread #11 ;)

a quick search using , 'running slow' gave me a good few threads where all the possible faults are highlighted.

thank you, come again

i read your first post mate, it was more aimed at the one telling him to get some 'help' lessons before he posts again that seemed slightly inappropriate

stop making multiple threads, just keep it in here.

Next have you got full VAG-COM or the trial version ? if you have the full version then do some logs of air flow, requested boost, actual boost etc etc etc. this will help us a little.

Also have you tried disconnecting the MAF ? if you disconnect the MAF and it run's better, it will be this at fault.

Hiya im new to this but anyways i have a seat ibiza 55 reg 1.2 Baby i know lol!
Anyways its been in for a mot recently and the engine light now keeps coming on and when im stood in traffic the engine will cut out if im stood longer than 2 mins or if its hitting 90 on heater gage.
So i took it back and they just kept putting new coil packs on the 3rd cyclinder. Anyways its had 4 new coil back on the 3rd one and its still doing the same?
Does anyone have any ideas to what they think could be wrong?
Please help its driving me mad!! Amanda

:wtf:

yours is a MK4 ibiza not a mk3... worth checking in the mk4 section :)

Boys to be quite honest your pushing everyone away from the forum... EVERY time someone new posts something you shoot them down. A forum is for discussing things and asking for help. Without asking questions that have already been asked a couple of times, people will run out of questions and then the forum will die down.

Fair enough if you point them in the right direction or say nicely that there is a search. Not the way that has gone about in this thread...

Anyway back on topic ;)

Well, after looking into it and after trying a few different things on fyfers car, it appears its not boosting atall!
Its completely standard and untampered with, and has about 30k on the clock.

I have a cheap code reader that just does the basics, Told us about the coolant temp sensor and running to lean. Next step was to fit a boost guage and see what its putting out but i have a feeling it will be very low to none. You just dont feel the turbo kick in atall and its not setting off the DV.

Checked all the obvious, its not going into limp mode, its got a brand new DV fitted, we tested it on mine incase it was faulty and it's working fine, No sign of any boost leaks. The N75 also *appears* to be working. When running if you unplug it and plug it back in you hear the solinoid click, i guess that still doesnt rule it out though so might try mine on tonight. Also goin to do the N122 and the N249 By-pass to see if that helps.

Tried taking it a run with the MAF unplugged, made no difference to the car runningwise, but when plugged back in after the run the revs took a slight dip.
Also it has been known for the revs to vary between 750rpm and shoot up to 2000 - 3000rpm and bac down when on idle, Can the TPS play apart in this?.

Chaps,

Spoke to Callum about this. I have the full version of VAGCOM and can help log the car to see whats happening with it.

Let me know.

Nae sure about knowing my ****, but I am getting nae bad at pin pointing what things could be with a bit of help from some others with 1.8T's and my cable :)

Regardless, I am willing and able to help. Let me know.

nice gesture.

btw when idle fluctuates a lot in revs, it usually points towards fuel. You said it was running lean, was there a code for this? Maybe worth having a look at the lambda's.

just for reference, there isn't any lights on right? and have you scanned it again since clearing when fitting the temp sensor, to see if any of the codes came back? Mind, some codes won't throw your EML light, or take a while to.

sounds like an 02 sensor, coolant sensor and possible the MAF. but with out the full codes we cant help too much. it 'should' be an easy fix though :)

No theres no lights on and i checked for codes again after i put in the new coolant temp sensor and this time nothing.
Was messing about with it again last night. Did the 2 by-passes and unpluged the maf. Took it for a blast and wow, what a difference. Only boosting to 4000rpm then stopping tho. Wont go any further.
Tried my MAF on it but no different, then tried his MAF on mine. Ran a bit dodgy but it still went past 4000rpm on mine and was backfiring like a mofo :D. Boosts right up in first, 2nd it dies at 4000rpm and so on.
Would it be going into limp mode without throwin on the EML? Am i right in thinking limp limits the boost to about 0.5bar but not the revs? Goin to order a MAF for it today. Fingers crossed. :)

limp mode limits boost, but its not a good idea revving the car lots when in limp mode.

as i said before, it looks like it is your MAF. as a word of warning, buy a genuin bosch part.
the other make it utter tat and wont work.

also carefull handling the MAF when you get it , they are very fragile.
what air filter do you have on ?
