Cheers - when I get home tonight I'll have a look to see if there's some kind of com port conflict - but reading through that guide, everything agrees and should be ok.

Also - I got the same result - couldn't find a controller - when I tried it on the Ibiza so it's not the car.....

Dave, have you tried it in another usb port onthe laptop? i had a little hassle when doing mine and had to use one at the rear of the lappy in the end (one thats otherwise unused) to get it to converse

Sorry to hijack this thread, but what are the differences between the Vag-com versions 409.1 & 311.2 ?

409.1 is newer than 311.2

no worries Dave.. Im not completely au'fait with Vag Com by a long chalk yet, but its worth even throwing up the little anomalies Ive experienced

I get:

C:\windows\system32\drivers\ftser2k.sys
C:\windows\system32\DRIVERS\serenum.sys
C:\windows\system32\ftserui2.dll

Those are the com port drivers, not the USB>serial drivers.

Thanks to the guide Lee posted.

Basically, Vag-Com was reporting the cable on Com3 when it wasn't.
I forced the USB serial port to become Com1 - then tried (not in car) and Vag-com wasn't reporting finding the cable on any port. However, thanks the additional blue writing in the guide, I went and tried it in the car on Com1 and bingo.

Now to get it re-registered with Ross-Rech.

It will be the drive is not installed correctly, Scott.

You need to stop it installing the driver and manualy install it your self.
