hi mate

i did mine on monday and yes i think it made a big difference,
no lumpy tickover and feels alot smoother through out the rev range.

just disconnect the inlet pipe, spray some car cleaner in it, use the throttle cable to open it, then use a toothbrush or something to scrub at it, reconnect it, start it up and keep the revs up and you will probally notice a big cloud of black smoke come out the back.

Then your done!

cleaned my throttle body today, and noticed the pipe that goes from the top of the radiator to the engine (with a small pipe that comes from the coolant tank/water bottle) is slightly leaking onto the breather pipe (i think its called, the pipe under the pipe thats leaking)!

its at the end that goes into the engine, does anyone know the name/part number of this?
my water has gone down by about 2cm's in the last 3months but couldn't find the cause, i thought it might have been the radiator!

how do you get the sodding clips off? I've not got normal jubilee clips on there but weird things that look like i'll need a mean pair of pliers with a massive jaw to get off

so if you open the bonnet, and look at the radiator, the top pipe that comes off it, and into the engine (directly in front of you), it has a small pipe that goes from the top of the cooler tank to this pipe also! i'm crap with names of parts, i know where/what they do though lol

yep either running or not, i used a toothbrush aswell to clean the bits, i want to take it off and clean it one day, but this was just a quick clean!
how does the cable come off the TB? i didn't want to gash at something then realise i'd broken it!

and i kind of understand why you sanded it down, there is a lip on it, but i think it wouldn't make much difference, but it might at the same time lol

but since i cleaned the TB its so much smoother!

best place to go for the pipe is your local seat dealer, it wont be the cheapest but will save you messing about trying to find one unless you already have lol

when i had my v6 vectra i sent the throttle body away to be ported and polished afterwards i did notice a slight increase, it would rev abit more freely and pick up alot quicker. was told that you can get 2-5bhp from it. Every little helps!
