Sounds like you are enjoying it, i have a candy white on order from Irfan as well. Hopefuly have it in the next couple of weeks!!

Your economy figures are a bit scary as i do a 350mile a week commute to work...............Surely it is better than that??

The one i test drove (08 demonstrator with 5k on the clock) managed between 26-34 depe nding on how hard i booted it!!

Ouch I wouldn't like your petrol bill.

I ran a Cupra for 15 months.

Best I managed was 34.1 mpg on a long run doing about 55 stuck in traffic.

Average on a run was about 28 to 30, got a bit better once the engine was run in at 10K miles though.

Boot it and 24 on a run is the norm.

Town driving I would say sub 25 mpg as well.

Expect the high 20's when doing mixed driving. I get 26-27mpg with only a small amount of motorway driving. If you get stuck in traffic a lot expect your wallet to empty.

Whenever I am doing a lot of miles I take my wife's tdi Altea which is so boring but needs must.

Thats better news, i have budgeted for 30mpg ~£50 week. Each way is 32miles with ~12 miles B roads and 20miles dual carriage way, so i am hoping ~35mpg.

I don't think you'll achieve 35 mpg, unless you take it really steady

One of my standard journeys was my house to our Manchester office, 50 miles probably 45plus of those on motorways although I would hit slow moving traffic for a bit on the motorway.

Managed 30ish on that trip. Due to traffic that wasn't booting it either.

Not sure what a tank of petrol on the Cupra costs nowadays but it lasts around 300 miles, at the peak a tank of od V-Power was £60ish I think, maybe as much as £65.

Remember to price it on 98RON+ petrol as you can lose mpg on lower RON fuel.

The Cupra is a so so really fuel wise, not as bad as a Focus ST but not economical either. You can't achieve the quoted figures.

Howdy Chap.

Nice to see your thoughts on it after you have had for a while.

Decent boot size for audio, hopefully chatch you at a TA meet sometime for a look.

I'm wanting good economy so a Leon K1 is not exactly what I am looking for.

I'm averaging 29-ish mpg according to the fuel computer thingy and it reckons a full tank will get me 355mls.
Thats mixed driving but i reckon maybe 300mls to a tank is more likely :D

Thats good to here. I think the fuel computer is likely to be ~10-15% out anyway!

Assuming a 5litre reserve then 355miles is ~32mpg.

The fuel computer isn't very inaccurate :-(

Mine would go from 260 to 320 depending on driving style during the previous trip, the mileage remaining is just a best guess.

I ran mine right down when I got shot of it. 3 miles driving would reduce the fuel remaining by 20 miles. The last bit seemed to drop rapidly.

In real world motorway driving I would do a 240 mile trip one day and have to fill up before doing a 100 mile trip the day after as it was too risky not filling up.

Glad you are liking the new car m8!

I know what you mean about insurance, mine almost doubled when I moved back to the SE from the SW....

Bet you cant wait to get those crappy head unit and speakers out, they really are poor for a 20K car...

If you are thinking of getting anything done (remap etc) check out AMD Technik in West Thurrock if you dont already know them

I get around 290 per tank but that's givin' it death most of the time, roads very quiet on my way to and from work so the road is mine.
Never been pulled by the rozzers as yet..
