I got a question which I have not been able to find properly. Why is PCV valve such a **** to block off? is it not really easy to get to if you take off the manifold?

just ordered a nice polished aluminium catch tank with 15mm connections.

do you have to use the flex hose btw, or is 3/4" straight lengths of silicone also ok? or will that not be able to be the bends properly?

It would make removing the PCV much easier if you take the inlet manifold off first, its just a little fiddly and awkward to get to if you dont.

Im not sure about the standard silicone hose as it might fold when bent, i personally used flexi hose from forge.

Reuvers if you refer to http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showpost.php?p=2256342&postcount=290 you can actually use the standard black hose that goes to the pressure regulator on the TIP if you're not bothered about bling - mine fits perfectly and the outlet of my tank just goes to atmos via a breather filter

Saved me £30 and works a treat

ive seen other people not useing superflex...i think im gunna get some normal pipe for it soon as mine has now gone all dark and greeny sorta colour

the problem is though that I do care what it looks like. I want blue hose, to match with the rest of the car, just don't wanna spend that absurd money....
I think I might pop round local silicone place, and see if the 19mm straight 3/4" is able to bend...

you'll have to make a bracket up for it or some come with them so you can screw it to the inside of the engine bay

yours comes with a bracket so use that to attach it

one problem! i noticed people sugget 19mm, however, this tank has 15mm connections! would that be ok? I guess as long as it's tightened up enough!

You can sleeve a 19mm pipe over a 15mm pipe which is what a lot of people on here do.

Or... you can buy a proper catch tank from Saikou Michi that's baffled with a mesh screen and comes with 19mm connections as standard Cost me $107 USD which was a shade over £60 at the time but exchange rates have gone to **** since then. See http://www.saikoumichi.com/951_page.htm

If you're on a budget then just make sure that you put some wire wool in the other catch tank, it helps the incoming gases condense and drain to the bottom rather than escaping straight back out again

ah, didn't know that about the wire wool! Sod £60 when this is about £30 and have loads of wire wool at home

Thought the 15mm connections should be ok lol
