Personnally if I'm investing £500-600 in suspension it is to improve the handling.
Whats wrong with only having, say a 40-50mm drop anyway? especially if the suspension has greatly improved the ride and handling?

ive had the time to think about this! maybe it a case of if the lower it is the better the handling will be in most ppl's eyes. it certainly was the case for me!, i had thought this for a long time but after trail and ERROR lol ive found that even though my 1.9tdi may never sump it, too low may be just as it is! Too low

personally ive mine set up as normal at half way down on the front coilovers! where as the rear are as low as possible with the adjuster still in! making it look level

because the rear doesnt go as low as it looks it should,it then leaves it at a nice good level comparing front to the rear! im happy with my set up! but im getting new coilovers shortly, the ones ive got are basic coilovers, not really for performance tbh

The FK high sports coilovers are getting ordered on the 28th :p (payday) [B)] with a price tag of £365 from FK them selfs BARGAIN

P.S yes its sucks when christmas comes around, paid on the 28th ffs lol

sorry, but where do you draw a comparison between a 911 & a shopping cart running on it's bump stops?

I love the logic though

Who said it was on its bump stops?

I'd rather have a shopping cart than jap crap....

The point is, if you're a bad enough driver to crash into a lampost, it means you were driving out of your or your cars ability. Regardless of what car it may be or what suspension it has.

You should always drive to your car and the roads conditions.

Not forgetting your own ability.....

you should have a look under your car one day - have a look at your available suspension travel - you'd be surprised how little effort it'll take to lift a wheel, or bottom it out if you're running as low as possible.

Always remember, though you might well drive 'sensibly' most of the time, when you need to make an emergency lane change/change of road conditions (or whatever) there are situations that are out of your control - and driving a car with limited grip / handling isn't ideal

As for the jap crap comment - don't beat around the bush... I've racked up more miles in shopping carts than I care to remember - modified probably more cars than you've driven, and driven so many more cars than I can count - I have a fair idea what I'm talking about.... but that's not "scene" is it?

your or your cars ability.

I didn't :D

There's still a good 50/60mm travel, granted that is almost half what it is as standard, but still quite a lot given how hard the suspension now is.

Dont get me wrong, the handling isn't that bad, its just not as good as if it was say lowered 50mm on varient 2's. Just means you have to be a little more gentle well braking over bumps or corning hard on uneven road surfaces.

Not sure how good idea it is posting on here calling memebers cars (baring in majority all drive the same car in this section of the forum) "shopping trolleys". I wouldn't go onto a mazda forum and slate their cars, just a thought.....

does it not damage your suspension? removing the adjuster cups?
i mean... is it safe?

Of course it is safe. The platforms you bolt in with the weitec suspension have the bottom machined so the spring sits on it perfect, without the adjuster cup in place. Im guessing this is where their lowest setting of 60mm at the rear comes from

i still want mine to sit lower you see, so i've been thinking about doing it

that in my opinion, is how low a car should be, its beautiful
