At some point I'd like to add some extra lighting to the front of my car and have it triggered by the high beam.

The linked device above appears to give that high beam trigger with no loom modification.

The high beam lights on my formentor are ok but not XXX mph on a pitch black road in the sticks ok.

Re insurance + mot's I have done this previously with my 2015 macan which had filament high beams I could draw a direct switched feed from. the light bar was declared to the insurance co who were fine with it and 3 different MOT places said as it was on high beam only and worked that was all that was required.

Did you get this installed? I know there is recipe for the Formentor from XBB. I have the XBB and will install. I Have a question on where to take the 12V in engine bay on E-Hybrid version. Has any one added a LED-ramp on an E-Hybrid version of 2022 year?

Ok thanks! Does anyone know where to get 12V for the relay in engine bay, I dont see an easy point to connect in the fuse box in engine bay, any advise?
