StealthBoxz in Leon - but causes vibrations - anyone with same problem?

Installed my StealthBoxz today from autoacoustics. Happy with the quality of the box - the velcro is a little useless - it doesnt even butt up properly with the boot lining, hope the box stays in there.

Anyway.... I previously had a regular sub in there and it was fine. Now with the stealthbox can hear a nasty vibration outside the car. Has anyone else experienced this? I think it is because of the angle of the sub. I dont know if the vibrations are inside the boot lid but when I open the boot it stops (it could be because the air atmosphere is changing when the boot opens.

Is this a common problem with the box? And is there a fix? I dont want to by dynamat'ing everywhere if it doesnt make any difference

I don't think mine vibrates any more than the standard square box I had originally, but I agree with you on the fitment issue. I remember giving mine a few whacks and it slotted into place eventually though and lines up nicely

Here's the only pics I've got (Posted them on another thread though so you may have seen them)

Did you take the cigarette adaptor out? I found that my acoustic box fits alot more snug now i've unscrewed the cigarette adaptor.

I also have the big vibe from outside the car, never really looked into where its coming from though.

boot lock , number plate , wiper blade / motor - also found and a few cars in rear bumper theres vents behind the car into bodywork which vibrate

ive had all the heavy subs over the years , polk momos & mtx sledgehammers are the current ones, which im tempted to put into the leon , but have a little nipper now , and the full boot space is admittedly very handy !!

so looking at the stealth options,

I have a suspicion it is something in the boot lid

Actually I think I may have the same thing, just it also happened with the 'normal' box before I got my stealthbox...

I need to take the boot trim off though to sort my rear washer sprayer thingy out as it's stopped working, so I shall have a look at mine whenever I do it (might not be for a while though!)

Still, not as bad as my old Fiesta was for rattling

its the bumper (well behind the bumper), seat badge, where the boot lid and boot base meet (shut) and the wiper.. if you hold all of those simaltaneously..the rattling stops  to cure most of the rattles, adjust the bass cut off on the amp so you dont get "high" bass frequencies, just deep ones, then the only thing that will rattle will be where it meets. and i cured that with folding up two peices of fabric and sitting them on the boot lip, so when it shuts, it shuts on something soft. remember you only want the true sub bass' coming from the sub, everything else should be from the door speakers.. hope this helps
