i have done some searching and there is no poll for this so i thought it would be a good idea to get the answer in this thread as im struggling to find the best priced/quality/handling etc so please select what you think is the best and state your reasons and where from and price etc.
if anybody has had more than 1 set of coileys on there car then which are the best!
i mainly want them for going lower but must be a great improvement to standard (im also getting arbs and a front strut brace so info on them please.
i have a limit of £500 which i think is very reasonable .

Well I have no Idea what’s the best for under £500 but I have weitec GT coilovers and I am very happy with them. There the same as kw variant 1’s just galvanised rather than stainless coated. They cost me £475 but I think there a little less since the recent vat change. :D

anybody got the ap coilovers??

Yep & they is fantastic :D:D

Had them on since June last year & I'm more than pleased with them.
I went for a 35mm drop which I think is plenty low enough (especially now I have my 18's on)
Ride is perfect not too bouncy & deffinitley on par with a seperate Shock/Spring combo for comfort...I'd been led to believe coilovers would be a lot harsher.

It can be crashy over bumps & potholes though but it doesnt pogo around or rattle your fillings out so nothing to worry about really.

Oh & their blue & look great ;)

Hope that helps.

Does the £500 include fitting and alignment check etc

Or is that the parts only?

umm ideally it would be for everything but i can always save a little harder or do a few hours overtime! lol
more opinions on the ap coilovers please??

at £500 for parts, fitment and tracking, then there is limited choice. AP are the only ones im aware of. **update, see following post for V-Maxx option***

AP coilovers are available for £365 inc vat with fitting including tracking for another £100. (i think plus vat).
see here:

they offer free fitting on V3s... but these are about £860

also i can get the remap for £265 all in from p-torque but its only available until end of january so i think from a money POV its better to get that done first as i wont have enough to do both this month.

so thats about a saving of £100... as a £30 alignment is most likely a poor job.

Maybe...however a lot of places don't include a proper 4 wheel alignment and camber when fitting suspension. They'll do the toe but typically they'll use the rear wheels as a guide...and anyone who owns a mk2 / mk3 ibiza knows that the rear wheels are never straight! Can assure you my £28 alignment is better than most!

My camber didn't need adjusting so it was just a front toe adjustment for £28
