Yeh think it was Danmay and someone else who sprayed their headlining black (there is a whole thread somewhere) but bought the sun visors and ABC pillars etc as when sprayed they came out badly. I want to do this at some point but can think of more exciting mods for me to do first. Well done for giving this a go!

Did you take pics before yoy started so you have before and after shots?

Nope! :(

I can take some pics of the black bits though! :D

Going on Saturday for a quote about getting the headlining done in suede. :)

Minus the headlining the rest of the Cupra interior (black) is pretty cheap? I had a interior once upon a time, and it was the Cupra interior, with just a resprayed black headlining....

I've sprayed the trim panels, just tried to spray the old headlining out of curiosity and it just looks like it goes matty and horrible. :(

Yeh it was Dan. :) I've sprayed the plastic trim. Had a bit of paint flaking but rubbed them down properly now so we'll see how they go!

Thanks for the comment! Hopefully it'll all pay off....

Faux suede or the real deal?

I really want to get my dash covered in suede, mainly for the looks but also to stop the sun glaring on it in the summer. Just don't know how to get around the passenger airbag!

Faux suede. It's a bit thinner and cover better but looks identical to suede! :)

I did think about flocking my dash with the left overs....... :D

Awh I want a black headlining now! Not fair! Let us know the quotes think the cupra one is well expensive to buy from the dealers

Copying me again? Do you just wanna buy my car?

Hopefully my dye will arrive before the weekend so I can dye the new headlining and then get the old headlining retrimmed....

You have a problem them, as someone always copy's someone else, and in theory as I did what youve done about 3 years ago, your copying me ;)

As for spraying, I sprayed mine, and just 'wiped' the black into the cloth as such, didnt feel as soft to touch as standard, but was black, and didnt leak black on ya hands once dry

For the stealer cupra headlining your looking at near on £200 or something daft

No sorry :( Only had it in for awhile, then sold that, and the rest of the real Cupra interior when I stripped out.

I thought about that, however thought how the hell do you find something big enough to soak it in!

most modern dyes you use in the washing machine done it before for my art course, can't be much bigger than a Queen size duvet cover we put in the washing machine. This is presuming it comes of ass a piece of thinish fabric or does it stay as a big plastic like piece?

lol no I wanted to do this when they did that thread a while back but spraying the headlining put me off!

The plastic's cover well. I've ordered some black aerosol dye. Dye is better for the fabric than paint.

Black aerosol paint for the plastics, dye for the roof! ;)

Shurrup you!

Well, 4 cans of aerosol Auto Glym black dye arrived today.

Sprayed it onto the "new" headlining.

Turned it a lovely shade of grey.

So - TWO $%$%$&^$£%£$ headlining's ruined now! £100 wasted on trying to get the right fecking arsing tit bumming nob jockey riding headlining right and still no luck! MAJORLY running out of patience, time and money! I just want my interior back in my car!

Well, the headlining didn't defeat me!

Covered in suede! :D

It needs doing professionally though. :( The flat bit is fine but there was a lot of cutting needed so the corners are pretty rough. :(

I'm just glad to get in back in the car!

Also - tried SofaGeeza's wheels up against my car.... I personally LOVE the black on black look and might consider getting some others.... ;)

Looks good Ash.
Those wheels would look great on it. Black on black always works well.
Possibly next mod on the list?

Tom, there's FAR too many mods on the list!

I would go for wheels like that but the polished lip would just get eaten by salt. Been looking at SSW Mesh 2's but don't think I'll change wheels.....

Gonna get the interior properly finished. Looking around for a GT1749VB but they're as rare as rocking horse poop.

Might go for a brake upgrade front and back when all the interior is done! :)
