Have you unplugged your throttle body recently?
If you did, did you do a TB alignment afterwards?
Mine died heaps of times after i unplugged mine and forgot to realign the TB
mine was when i used went to start couple of mins later like if i went to shop only sometimes though at front cus in line with engine mount bi**h to get un done
Whats that meant to say in english?
iirc crankshaft sensor is also known as the speed sensor, but you really need to vagcom it, have you put up a post in the vagcom section asking for help?
yeah good shout bills been great helping me out with mine in the past too.
hope you get it sorted anyway

Would the crank/speed sensor be located at the back lefthand side of the gearbox as you look from above?
Could it also be known as an angle sensor via vagcom?
Reason i ask, is that im having a problem, where i have awful idleing and somtimes stalls on itself, im also unable to do a TBA somtimes but everytime i remove the sensor and clean it with IPA it will allow me to do a TBA. 5 mins later back to being broke - clean again and its fine.
Obviously it controls your speedo but does it help control anything else?
I`ve orderd the sensor from Seat and on the invoice it did say speed sensor didnt mention anything about a crank sensor.
Sorry to hijack!
Its difficult to say what it is, if not impossible without a fault code, doing that narrows it right down.
If this fault only happens when the engine has a chance to warm up it sounds very much like the G28 Engine Speed/ Crankshaft sensor, someone else had the exact same issues, but this came up as a fault code.
You can get a fault code reader off ebay for about £30, ive got one and it always works well.
Lots of good people on here who can help if you provide the fault codes, and will help you get it sorted without the kind of 'change everything till we find it' mechanics method!
Do you mean you cant find the obd connection point on the car?
Was that with ignition on?
Shame that because they are very handy. The one I have works fine, was more at about £30, ive used it on a golf and my ibiza mk2 no problems. Its an Autel Vagscanner if that helps.
