This was the GTI Festival back in june 2008 (i think), i had my wheels refurbed about a week before. I was not a happy bunny with them due to how matt and anthracite they were. Needless to say they were rectified the following week..

Just brought some new engine mounts as i think the handling needs tightning up...even though the car has only done 26k...Hopefully will be fitted along side my Blueflame CAT back that is still waiting to be fitted!!

I purchased the INA Street Density engine and transmission mounts, with the Track Density DBM..

alright mate got a few qustions for as you seem to know how to turn a standed lcr in to a real beauty without ruining it. so you think the lcr is still a every day car with a stage2 on it. ? what is a n249 bypass ? whats a tip ? 100% throtle allowance ? is it not already 100% ? how come you remove your sound proofing ? and last of all why remove fog lights ? my lcr has got them missing but i thought someone had nicked them or somat i just ordered some new ones , shouldnt i have ? sorry pal for the novice questions im new to lcr and not clued up on them at all but i intend to be now ive joined here . i know if i search long enough il find the ansewer to all my questions on here but you seem to hve all the answers.................................

alright bud, thanks for the compliments much appreciated :)

in my opinion i will get my car mapped to a CCph2 and leave it at that, the power should be plenty for me. i realize your car is REVO'd but a few mates have commented on how smooth and almost 'factory like' the power delivery in mine is, im hoping ph2 will be even more of a heightend driving experience. i use mine daily so has to be as drivable as possible.

basically the N249 bypass is a bit of tubing that goes from the Dump valve straight to the inlet, instead of (inlet-n249-Dump valve) cutting the n249 out improves a few things..crisper throttle, DV operates quicker as its now a direct pipe, DV sounded slightly better too..plus a better gear change....good cheap mod

a TIP is a turbo intake pipe..the forge one comes highly recommended. this mod is a must after remap cos the old one tends to be unreliable. this TIP is designed a little freer which in turn benefits the car. after fitting the turbo spools slightly quicker and you will hear and feel it sooner too..lovely whoosh sound. very expensive for some piping but recommended
turbo intake pipe (T.I.P)

with the throttle allowance, with a CCph1 map im sure the throttle is setup so you get full boost when the pedal is 75% pressed, ive just adjusted so i get full boost when pedal is on the floor.(which i will get reverted back, with the CCph2..)

i removed the soundproofing to see if i could hear the engine more..which imo you can..i can hear my DV more, i can hear more whooshing and whistleing too, also it helps to get more cold air recirculating round the engine bay, as the soundproofing holds all the heat in causing slight heatsoak....the removal of the fogs is benefitial to the side mount intercoolers. these fogs are directly in front of the side mounts restricting the cold air getting to them...removing them should be a good fix untill i get my front mount intercooler..then they will go back in lol....

dont worry bout asking questions mate, we are all here to learn and i dont know as much as some people on here...there are some very usefull tips and facts on this site, just depends on how much time you have dude..:D

lovely car you seems very careful with what you are choosing to do most of it is over my head but can tell you want this car to be perfect. Ha ha when you said you sometimes look at your car after a hard day and makes you happy I do that!

hey mate,
real nice car! love how clean and tidy the engine bay is!
your like me you prefer mechanical mods more than aesthetic mods!
how much do you think you've spent on mods?
any more mods on your wishlist?

cheers bud,
i wouldnt know off the top of my head...around £2500..excluding maintenance etc..i always said to myself i wouldnt modify this car, but after browsing this site you get to know the weakest links on the car and you wanna improve them..

well tbh after starting the mods i had it in my head to try and make some sort of show car, thats why my engine bay is all blinged...i soon realized this would be hard going as most show cars are garaged and used rarely, mine is a daily and my driving style i tend to attract dopey drivers and/or stonechips etc...

now im concentrating on making the car it should of been from the factory..if i spend another £2000 it will be...

my wishlist:

front ARB
rear ARB
recaro bucket seats (audi TT specials)

yourself mate?

i get exactly what you mean, you got like a certain vision in your head, and you just want to get that out on your car?

well get the car normal first (the guy before me done some mods i didn't like, he dropped it 60mm, too much for me, so raised it 30mm) get the electric wing mirror switch working, then maybe induction kit and a remap (for more torque if it does give a good amount) and i don't like the exhaust, so might change if funds are ok
(chrisboyle upped some pics for me if you wanna look, thanks for the hello btw)

ps love the silver or black LCR's, they are my fav!

after my map my car certainly liked the revs, and i know for a fact on the motorway at 90 on the standard car it was quiet as a mouse, now not so...i was trying to explain that on the standard map in 6th it was lifeless, and now it isnt...

the original write up has been edited to explain myself more...
