As some of you know I recently fitted a set of 6000k hids to my car. But Im starting to think something is wrong.

Its a h4 low/hi kit as a standard h4 bulbs is dual filament.
Low beam:

High/main beam:

Does this look right to everyone?? Reason Im asking is when Im driving my car and have it on low beam, I get loads of people flashing at me thinking Ive not dipped down and Ive had people say that they are too blue :)confused:).

Ive looked on the instructions and followed all the wiring diagrams/fitting instructions and everything is connected correctly as there is only one way to connect them. Ive also had my headlights aligned up the last time my car was in the garage getting work done.

Im open to any suggestions etc.

Thanks

Craig.

that would be correct high beam is halogen still, as long as your headlights are aimed correctly then theres no problem. doesnt seem to bother the average X5 owner that hes blinded ever ****, dont worry about it.

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you say its been aligned your ok.

Just thought, have you adjusted the bulbs via the switch in the car? Maybe you have them in the 'up' position. Its the switch next to the one for dimming the dash lights. Saying that my old 1.4 didn't have switch

I have tried adjusting that switch, moved it down to both position 2 and 3 and it has helped abit. Im thinking of switching the bulbs across to see it that will help.

Referring to an earlier post I read tonight (about lhd angel eyes) someone put up what the beam pattern should be. As its a rhd car it should mainly be pointing towards the pavement.

Here is a picture I took (that Ive just remembered about) and looking at the the beam pattern is correct.

how much were they m8?? im after a pair f bulbs myself
but when they say blue on packet thyre nowhere near, i had sum once that were really blue but cnt think who made them:censored:

They were around £40 from ebay. They are good quality. They came from Hong Kong. Theres a seller on ebay Dianeshop who sells HIDs. Cant remember the seller I got mine from. Bare in mind theres alittle more work fitting them than changing a normal bulb. If you just want normal bulbs then try Phillips Blue-Vision bulbs.

this H4 kit seems to get the thumbs up

uk based, going to go for this on my mk2 golf i think, if you read the bottom bit it says if you want hi/low beam both in xenon add an extra £25.
but to be honest halogen high beam is good enough.

My HID's are different to that. It has to bulbs on the mounting. A long thin tube directly in the centre and a bulb at the side. The thin tube directly in the middle is for the low beam, which is the HID and the other bulb is for the high-beam.

I never have to use my high beam now because the low beam HID is good enough, probably lights up more of the road.
