Cupra standard heated mirrors

Hey
Just wondering does the cupra come with heated mirrors as standard? I was under the impression that it would work with the electric mirror control in the centre (not on L or R) and with the rear window heater on. Nothing happens in my 07 Cupra!
Any help appreciated.

Cheers

I think you can retrofit them as I've seen them for sale online somewhere for £100, then I guess you just need to replace the control knob. I don't suppose anything needs doing to the ECU for them to work.

Cheers, gonna have a look into seeing how much its gonna cost. Just had a look in manual, should have done that in first place- the heated ones have a separate option on the control knob as well as them folding in.

you need to replace the electric window motor/assembly as they plug into there. :(

Of course if you have no warranty you could wire them up to the rear screen heater via a relay/fuse. I plan to do this if I can find a pair of heated mirror glasses for sale.

Do you mean the little unit with the knob mounted in the door? Or something else inside the door. Just looked on ETKA and could be 'Central control unit for convenience system'? Looks expensive if it is..

I mean the part that the electric windows and electric mirrors plug into inside the doors. the ones for heated/folding mirrors have an extra socket IIRC.

Heated mirrors only work when the heated rear window's switched on, they stay on for 10 minutes then turn off.

My Cupra has them, but its an MY05.

Well I'm glad to see that VAG has moved forward to emulate the way VX did things back in 1991!
My 2000MY Passat ended up with me burning out my mirror heaters when I thought that they were controlled by the rear window heater - I should have read the owners handbook properly, instead of finding out about this (too late) in the internet!
I jumped into my wife's 2003MY Polo tonight, and yes she has forgotten and left the mirrors on for the past five days - time will tell if they survived this!
Actually my 2000MY Passat does not even have a rear window heater timer - just a switch!!

I don't have to turn on the rear window heater to get my heated mirrors to work! (06 plate facelift cupra).
