Well I think I have finally come up with an induction setup I'm happy with. While the K&N Apollo is good, it's boring as it's near silent - when I drive a turbocharged car I want to hear induction noise, turbo spool and dump noise!

So I got a new filter and alloy trumpet from Roger Clark Motorsport, mainly because they have K&N cone filters which have open cotton gauze ends and not just rubber or chrome caps.

Just so happens that the Apollo cold air feed fits perfectly on the end of the filter:

Here it is installed:

Direct cold air feed from the fog light aperture:

So I'll have a good supply of force-fed cold air along with the other benefits of an open cone!

Something else my car will be sporting next year ...

:D ;)

Backdraft Motorsport baffled sump will be coming soon too.

How did this setup affect the mass air flow g/sec

Well I got the carbon bonnet fitted today, it's a better fit than the one I originally had and it looks good, very light too, so I'll be fitting bonnet pins tomorrow, just to make sure it doesn't fly open at speed!

My new carbon door mirrors arrived too, (they are not covers or DTM!) they will match the bonnet very well and look awesome. :D

New pics of the '09 look will be posted once the mirrors are fitted ............. soon! ;)

Yes it does, but due to the light nature of the bonnet I feel pins are required to hold it down for high speed safety! :D

I have 2 types of pins to choose from, the traditions slide pins or the aerocatches, although much better looking, the aerocatch design requires big holes to be cut into the bonnet, so may just fit the normal pins as not too happy about doing that in case I get it wrong!

Mine is stupidly light as well rob and doesn't budge. Saying that fitting pins would look smart and give piece of mind.

That's one reason i haven't fitted pins yet, fear of screwing it up.:headhurt:

Takes me back to my first car a humble T-Reg 1.3L MK2 Escort, it is still the most fun car I've ever owned
