there is a really nice five door facelift 1.4 on auto trader which i would snap up straight away if i had the money ! i have decided that it is what i want so hopefully in a few months when i save up the money i will get one, hopefully a facelift one, the interior looks loads better

Thanks for all your advice guys, keep it coming ! :)

My first one was (and still is) a 1.6 SXE 5 doors, 100 bhp and good fun. There's a few people that have modded 5 doors on here tho

its about time for a 16v now though ;)

i cant quite afford insurance for a 1.6 ! ill be happy with a 1.4 me thinks. im learning in a 1.5 diesel and that suits me fine.

check brakes as well, i drove a couple of ibizas a few years back with no brakes so i walked away

just passed on my mk2 1.4s ibiza to a mate this weekend, gti interior so it was a nice car in terms of comfort i found

mod wise i would say if you are going to do anything don't go extreme, i have mk3 cupra alloys on and that was it and i made the car look great as you can see a little in my avatar

yeah you definatly want a ibiza, there much better than a corsa, clio, saxo or any of those other "first cars"

go for the 1.4s too, ive got one and there loads nicer than the nornal one, good seats, rev counter, remote central locking, front front door speakers (not sure if thats only in the pre-face lift tho..)

and as for height, im 6.4 and have no trouble!

ah cool. im really keen on one now, people at school are wanting things like clios and corsas but noone wants an ibiza, but everyone agrees that they are good cars! loads more choice than the polo anyway .

are there any good specific places to buy them from or is auto trader as good as anything ?

For the 1.4, autotrader is probably as good as anywhere else.

One piece of advice though - don't buy the car before you look at it, try to be objective - and ready to walk away from a car!

i would never buy before i see ! i have to decide whether to look for a car once i can actually drive one ( as in passed my test ) or just buy one as soon as i have the money and trust my dads judgement ...

im aiming to be able to purchase around april, and hopefully passing my test around then also. the annoying thing is i keep looking in auto trader and finding cars that i would seriously consider, all the while not having the money to do so !

fun ! i was going to do it on my own but then insurance quotes for a full licence made an apperance and made me very sad and annoyed ! my mum is a named driver on her car anyway so she said she would insure it for me and i would pay everything ! fair me thinks. i seem to get loads more choice with ibizas from most other cars, unless i was stupid enough to want a fiesta anyway

exactly why my dad wouldnt do it for me, get found out and its not good

if you mam is going to actually use the car then its okay, like if you share it...but if she has another car and wont use the ibiza much, not a good idea...
