My warranty runs out in 2 weeks and am planning on taking my lcr to the local seat garage. The interior blk door handles and peeling and the cup holder is broken so will try and get them repaired under warranty. Will they do a full check of the car aswell as standard or do i have to make something up for them to check it?

Also after my warranty expires, do i have to get my car MOT'd straight away, or is that the folllwing year?

Check that your twins radiator fans are working correctly in conjunction with the climate control. Do a search, plenty of information on the forum here , but basically from a COLD start the fans should run when the a/c is on. Switch it off and they should stop. If not get this fixed under warranty as the only fix is an expensive replacement of the fans and/or controller unit.

My warranty expires on 22nd Nov, car was registered on 22nd Nov 05, so in theory i need an MOT done before then, and ideally i want the car inspected under warranty by then too.

Be careful about making up a fault to get them to check stuff - dealers are in their rights to charge you for investigative work when it turns out there's nothing wrong

unplug the maf for about 3 engine starts, CEL comes on, plug maf back in take to dealers to look at fault code and they'll more than likely fit a new maf

Your 1st. MOT is due on the 3rd. anniversary of when the car was 1st. registered so have it done by the 22nd. If you have it done before then the New MOT is valid until 22nd No 2009 so you would not be losing any weeks.
As for warranty work you can't just make up faults, even as a customer I would think that is taking the Pee, but you can ask the service manager if any recalls are due on your model.
It was explained to me by VW that all wearable items were not covered by the warranty, bit silly but every part of the car is wearing over time at a molecular level, the service manager couldn't see my point. I think they they only have a degree in get out clauses.

I would just pay for a full Seat check to be done.
MOT will need done as said above, this can be done up to a month before the MOT date, ie 22nd of October

to meet warranty terms your car is due a 3rd year service now anyway,so get them to do a service and mot, then they should pick up on any faults for warranty:) easy

ive only had the car 5 weeks, and was serviced at end of Aug 08, so im cool for a year with that.

My MOT is booked in for 22nd Nov 08, so thats that sorted.

With the warranty, the door handles are peeling and the cup holder is knackered, so im gona call them 2moro and ask if they will change them under warranty, but looking at the comments above, i think blagging a fault is gona be a bit dodgy.

Your MOT can be carried out upto a month before it is actually due and still keep the original due date. I would personally have the MOT done sooner rather than later as anything found on the MOT that is covered by warranty can still be replaced whereas if it is done on the date the warranty expires it may be argued that your warranty has finished

My clutch pedal was doing the same thing squeaking i sprayed all the moving parts one at a time with some lube, turned out to be the spring at the top of the pedal, think its the return spring anyway its stop squeaking now.
