Whisteling noise from driver door

When i am driving along, there is a whistling noise / wind noise coming from near the driver side wing mirror, doesnt happen on the passenger side..... i was wondering if anyone else had the same problem or any ideas how to solve this?

hi buddy

funnily enough i have my car booked in tomorrow to have the driver side door seal replaced.

i would firstly look to see on the outside of the seal if there is and kinks?

this is the reason for mine.

right at the end of the seal there is i kink that is lettin the air thro........

it may be the batch that was faulty

mines 58plate sportrider. dealers fixing in a day

Mines is similiar, registered in Jan 07 but is a 56 plate, not uncommon.

I also get wind noise at my mirror although one minute it's there, then its gone. Just putting up with it for now.

i took mine back to the dealers about 5 times to have this sorted, it is a design fault that they still haven't shanged to do with the section between the trim and window? compare the drivers side with passenger side and see the differance.

Which dealer are you going to??? Doesnt sound like they know what they're doing!!
Mine was fixed within the hour at my local dealer.

doesn't suprise me somewhat, my car has been back about 15 times in total in 18 months. Bartletts of hastings / st leonards.

Its quite a simple fix though!

apparently it is a design fault, tbh they probably just made that up, but they had to order parts in to replace the originals. I think we may be talking about a differant problem

No really, same problem wind noise from mirror, no parts required a simple adjustment is all thats needed. Lovely & quiet now. My friend also had the same problem with her ibiza & she took it to the same dealer & it was sorted straight away, no problem.

how does that work?

57 plates go on cars registered September 2007 through to the 08 plates starting 1st March.

08 plates 1st March 08 to September 2008 .... 58 plates September 2008 to March 2009... etc.


so 08 registered car on 57 plates must have been registered before 1st March but after 1st Jan

i looked at the driver mirror today and noticed a gap where its supposed to be flash with the seal+ window, i take it that is the whistling noise, is it something i could adjust myself?? nice one for all the replys!

do a search for wind noise, will prob see hundereds of posts on this don't thinks anyone has ever had this problem solved under warranty. The ibiza is a cheap hatchback with a bit of wind noise alot better than my previous cheaper cars for wind and road noise thou.
