I had this problem which I noticed more after I went in my mates Ibiza Cupra, which didnt make the whistling noise.

Had it into Seat about a year ago now suggesting what it was, they either replaced or added another rubber grommet to the somewhere around the hinge joint on the Drivers Mirror.

Problem Solved! No whistling at all.

Got mine back from the dealers all fixed, they added some black foam into the gap on the wing mirror a panel and under the rubber seal. Now i can hear the passenger side.

Bilston.
This problem never ceases to amaze me and almost forced me to sell my beloved ibiza.

I've had my car for 2 years and after several visits to 3 different seat delearships i still have wind noise from my door and on occasion even had water run in. I've learnt to live with it but as my warranty is set to run out next reading this thread has rekindled my need to get it fixed.

Has anyone tried repairing this themseleves - or has anyone else stepped up and come up with an alternative non seat solution.

Good luck with yours.

Just took my car into the Dealers and they said there is nothing that they can do and its something to do from the wing mirror. Totally lying if some of you have had the door re sealed then it is nothing to do with the wing mirror. Also took it in for some paint work which they tryed to get out of till i started moaning at them but i am still without a fix for the whistleing noise.

There are three different problems being talked about here -

1. Very heavy wind noise due to poorly fitted wing mirror - this can be fixed by adjusted the mirror mounting and checking the seals are good.

2. Noticeable but not hugely loud wind noise caused by poor design of mirrors - nothing can be done about this.

3. Wind noise caused by poorly hung/sagging doors or worn/faulty door seals - this can be solved by adjusting the door and/or replacing the seals.
