Looking really good Rob, loving the SEM mani:drool:

Charge pipe looks good and personally I wouldn't bother with the LCR one, though it may benefit from a support bracket to prevent too much movement - Hooch had this problem, you can see it on the RR video he posted.

Will be interesting to see how she goes with this little lot on.

One question niggling me is what effect the larger throttle body will have - as well as less restriction presumably throttle response will be stronger for given pedal position - or will ECU adapt? IIRC you also have a sprint booster fitted and wonder if this will give you a double wammy?

Engine bays looking good. Thinking i maybe should of went SEM over RMR but ohwell. Are you goina get map tweeked after its fitted rob?

beattie. i was talking to someone the other day (my flowbench man) and he said the rmr mani flows much more even across the cylinders than the sem. stops the porblem im having with cylinders running different afr.

If he has the flow bench tests in similar format as below for RMR and SEM I would be interested to see them.

RMR flowed 90cfm less in original tests to the 007 mani

lhs throttle bodies in these tested.
#1 was closest to throttle body, #4 furthest away from it, so not cyl numbers which is a tad confusing.

Well nearly finished, the pipe runs are both complete, support bracket is done and solid, just got to separate the loom again to bring the MAP sensor wires across to the right then re-wrap (forgot to do this the first time - doh!).

Not sure whether to bother fitting the oil cooler or not, do I really need it for the occassional trackday?

I ran many track days without one (nor gauge :hide: ) ignorence of oil temps was'nt neccessarily bliss, but no ill effects from track use other than baffled sump being needed.

I run one now, but for the power/race use its probably unwise not to. Only just fitted oil temp/pressure guage so although I have run one for a few years now I could'nt say what temps its been running at.

You have oil temp/pressure gauge ?

Yes both oil temp and pressure Bill, so I guess if the temp starts to get a bit high I can just do a couple of easy laps to cool it down a bit then go again.

My biggest concern is that my turbo is only oil cooled and giving it some for any sustained period may well lead to really high oil temps?

Where did you mount your cooler Bill?

I have done quite a few trackdays now with my APR Stage 3 car without any issues re oil.

I ran a baffled sump in my old valver and following Bill's advice re surge issues on turbo cars especially if running big brakes and intermediates I run a baffled sump in my B/T set up. I have never bothered with an additional cooler but did in the valver. Car is hot after some spirited laps which is to be expected although I tend not to run as many trackdays I used to due to cost and I want to keep it in one piece ready for next year's trip to the ring.

Bill....blimmin TAROX callipers won't take 28mm discs....surefire way of getting you back to buy their discs!!...doh

Discs hace some surface cracking after 2 yrs of use....not bad I suppose...had one skim but the pads are OK but discs could do with changing although they work fine they just look a bit scabby with some heat spots.....no lips or warping though.

Looking forward to your performance review of the SEM Rob, I'm still waiting on my hoses.

I'm going to leave fitting the oil cooler until the winter, give me something to do before trackdays next spring. Meantime I have finished installing the SEM manifold, here's some pics:

Car is up and running again now, throttle-body adaption went fine, fired up and no leaks anywhere, so it's all good. Driving impressions tomorrow!!! :D

I moved the carbon canister further down to where the washer tank used to be.
