does not look that difficult to re route the pipe work either for the FMIC, just a U bend and go back on itself I imagine?

 Nasty pipework if you do that. Not nice and smooth flow wise and alot longer than needed. Like Rob is doing following a car with the tb on the same sides standard routed or upgrated routed pipwork is the best thing to do.

I did think that, causing further drop in pressure from extra piping etc

I wont be doing that then:)

It would surprise you and it surprised me that a bigger volume of induction doesn't always bring a pressure drop.
DJHorace fitted an S3 intercooler to his MK2 Leon Cupra and actually raised the boost pressure 3 PSI, very surprising to us all

raised boost pressure as in it had to work harder to achieve the same airflow?

tht could have been what happened, didn't think of that.
It is a mapped car that got better boost after the bigger intercooler was fitted. I don't know much about the mapping side. I was very surprised the boost pressure went up, it could have been working harder but would find it difficult to believe as it was running on the same map???
Anyhoo back to Rob's hopefully 300 BHP set up

Latest progress pics, things aren't taking too long, luckily I have a few pipes and bends lying around I've been able to use:

Some new silicone hoses turned up today, including the 80-60mm reducer, so tomorrow I'll be removing the front bumper and finishing off the runs down to the intercooler on both sides.

Still not sure whether to use an LCR charge pipe or not, would it look neater?

Possibly, but looking at your pics I struggle to see how...

It might look a bit "wannabe" if you know what I mean. Also, there's a fair bit of bracketry to source/modify as it might not fit straight onto your outlet.

P.S. Your TIP made me smile - it's about half the length of the car!

I think it looks good as it is. Whats the deal with the blue S bend for the inlet?

On another note, gotta love those SEM manifolds.

I see you have the throttle body twisted round. I've heard this can help even out the flow across cylinders.

Apparently it works on standard inlets too I've been told. Won't hurt to try.

Looking great Rob, one thing though... the external diameter of the 80mm throttle body is 88-89mm. I've ordered a 88 - 63mm reducing bend followed by a standard 63mm bend to try and get me to mate up between the map sensor housing and the TB. 300bhp i recon no prob Rob.
