Just out of interest mate did you have to cut anything to get the pipework for the FMIC to fit?

Mine doesnt fit snug with the drivers side wing. Cannot get it right for love nor money. It'll probably be catching on the top of the fog light housing. I hate to say it but put a cable tie or two around the inlet and outlet pipe and pull then right up. Should give clearance then.
Im still on holiday atm but when I get back home I will post pics. Lets just say 564 miles on not even 3/4 tank.
Right - I set a challenge of going from Somerset to Scotland on one tank of fuel. I was travelling from near Bridgwater in Somerset and my destination was Birnam in Scotland - just north of Perth via my Mrs' house in North Lincs.
Here's the results I got when I arrived in north Lincs. Look at the trip computer to see the mileage (reset when venting the tank full)
Which I was well pleased with! 249 miles and no movement of the fuel needle whatsoever! 59.7 average on the motorway - 58.2 by the time I got there.
Then I set off for Scotland. Here are the overall results:
I was amazed! Eat your heart out Ibiza Ecomotive!

I think about 15 more litres roughly. I got £60 in on half a tank I think!!!!! IIRC.
Normally mine only does 300 miles to a tank around town - take it on the motorway or a decent run and it's one economical beast!
Letting the expansion room out of the fuel tank. Fuel tanks have room for the fuel to expand in hot weather - so even when the tank is "full" - there's still LOADS of room left in the tank! Venting lets that air out so you can stuff the tank FULL. Makes a HELL of a difference on a long run.
was that pic at th services where i met u mate? your car is awasome on fuel i wana try and see what mine does on a full tank on the motorway lol
