90amp on mine.. will check ibiza tonight..
wondering on what basis the clutch would come in tho? why would an alternator not want to charge? Regulator pack deals with the power output. curious as now I am on DTA I am only using the main large charge cable which went to the starter motor and none of the smaller wires. Dash on mine shows voltage so I know when its charging from when its not. 14v on charging.

It's torque related off the aux belt Bill - to protect the alternator from excessive torque I think. When the clutch failed on mine - I was getting odd ign light flashes.

edit - I think it might be a kind of free-wheel device to allow the alternator to spin on if the belt slows suddenly............

just check owners manual and battery light only means alternator problems.

and moff, you were right. you check voltage at battery with engine off then on and you should see an increase...my bad.

ive also noticed that the brakes seem to take longer to work when on boost.
i know you need to be in vaccum for brakes to work but mine seems to take longer than i remember.

checked non return valve in the servo pipe and seems ok.

maybe engine is taking too long to reach vaccum?

Those figures look mental. Been keeping a silent eye on this project. I have a Mk2 golf with similar spec, and have been interested to what sort of power it will make, once i get it on the road.

Running GT3071 0.82AR, on 2.0 bottom end and large port head etc, hopefully gonna get near the 500 mark :D We'll see.

Good luck with your manifold. Have heard about the problems you have had from other people.

A couple of questions tho..... What boost are you running? Whats EGT's are you running?

On the subject of surge, i also had this problem on my 1.8 using the smaller 0.63 AR hotside. There was a cure, limit the boost as it builds, or fit a larger hotside. I am using 034 EFi ECU setup but with N75, and i had to limit boost to 1 bar and let it build up slowly until 4.5-5k or it would surge like crazy, not good for the bearings! I hated it, so got Owens to mod the turbo and fit larger hotside, now i get a small bit of extra lag, but its worth it.

ME7 CAN be tuned to run whatever turbo setup you have. Maxxing out the MAF isnt a problem either, as you can map the car with the right fuelling etc, i dont know why people worry about that so much. I know its not ME7, but my old S2 with GT35/40 maxxed the MAF at 4k! After that it was just mapped properly.

Can highly recommend MRC for mapping, they have done all of my past/current cars, and have never had any problems.

The downside of non OE Ecu setups is lack of knock control. Something that i wish i had.
