Rob you'll need at least 1 washer for the transmission side mount as the OEM bolts have these as part of the bolt but the Issam ones don't.
I did a guide for the transmission side. Do you have an engine hoist?

Nice Mani Rob. I emailed Tigart for a price on a 225 k04-023 manifold and they replied with a cost of 799 Euros plus 50 Euro delivery. A tad pricey. I noticed that it is cheaper than your mani on thier website but how did they charge you must less.

Today I had an interesting conversation with Jim from Star, he phoned me for a chat and we got some things sorted out, so I feel a bit better about things.

Turns out that ALOT of GT2X and even some GTRS turbos have been blowing, upon inspection from turbo companies like AET, Turbo dynamics, etc. they all say that the internals are all very poorly made with out of spec tolerances etc., that's why they're all blowing. Jim's had 8 or 9 cracked manifolds too - hence the reason why he no longer deals with them.

He has offered to help me if I require it (offered to trailer my car up to Star to refit the turbo etc.), plus he has offered to pay for the shipping of my manifold to the USA, (which left today), so some faith has been restored.

Jamie - you did the right thing having your GT2X reworked from new, from what I've heard it would only be a matter of time before it blew like mine. So far the reworked turbos have been fine to date with no failures.

**UPDATE** - Got the studs on the turbo today, of course the studs wouldn't go in far enough for the manifold (great ATP castings!) so I had to dremel off about 5mm, but now they're all in and the manifold bolts up spot on to the turbo. Was quite exciting seeing the turbo and manifold together.

Weather permitting I will be refitting the turbo etc. Wed/Thurs, hopefully have it all done by the weekend.

Fedex collected the cracked ATP manifold today so it's heading back to the USA, once the new one arrives I'll take some pics of the revised design and then get it up for sale! :D

Yes, I got the same reply......seems a hell of a difference...maybe we should start pushing piper on the ones they are looking at making...hopefully for a reasonable price, the tig art one is too much....when you consider it is the same basic design as the k03 one Rob has just bought.

K04 is supposed to be a mare to fit. How long did it take sie to get his fitted?

Tig-art reckoned it was about a 7 hour job.

Which mani did they quote you on willy? They are also making a non equal length tubular manifold. Thats the one JBS quoted at £450 + vat

Remember the K04 version is equal length and the K03 is not, that has to be the source of the extra cost IMO, JBS charge £650 + VAT for the K04 version.

Rob, I have asked that question but they did say that it was 'tubular manifold' no mention of equal length, they do make a stock type tubular as this is what JBS seem to sell...it seems a little odd that they are selling direct now as I contacted them in the past before I knew about the JBS links and they referred me to JBS, might just buy the JBS Tubular Manifold.....I must admit I am very tempted to go JBS05 as I have all the ko4 bits and get them to limit the torque to about 300lbs ft. to protect the internals as its a 180

I don't know what the connection between Tig-Art and JBS is - but Tig-Art never mentioned JBS when I contacted them and I paid £393 shipped to my door instead of £528.75 inc.VAT from JBS, so saved alot of money for the same thing.

Tubular only, no mention of equal length.

Good to hear your getting things sorted with Star Rob. ATP turbo does look like its got to sort its quality control out.

Yeah, from what Jim told me the turbos have shocking build quality, just about every GT2X that ATP has sold has blown.

With regards to Eliminator 2, ATP said: "We've made many improvements to installability, tunability, and reliability." Seeing is believing eh!

Fortunately good old UK turbo companies are rebuilding them to better specs with proper tolerances!

I think I mentioned about 18 months ago that the Yanks were offloading the ATP turbos as they were having loads of problems with the quality of them, Rob's should be good now as the whole turbo has been re-built but Jamies is essentially ATP with a bigger Compressor wheel, CR will probably not have opened the centre housing up so he could suffer the problems Rob had.....
