See where I live it's just not practical to have your car lowered, every town close by has speed bumps, and I'm not talking about housing estates, the two closest towns have speed bumps on their main streets!

And I live in the country on narrow roads so if you meet something wide, your screwed lol.

If I was to ever lower a car of mine it would be to the same level as the sportiest one in the range, so I guess with the Ibiza that would b 40mm, but it's just not worth the hassel on a car that I use almost every day.

i use mine every day too. last night i was going down a country lane and there was a branch on the floor, i had to stop and move it as it would have destroyed my bumper..

was a big branch though,, arounf 5 inches thick

This thread keeps dying lol!
Right anyway, My mate's brother is a metal fabricator and he is making me up a straight through centre section next week, it's going to cost £15. Me, my mate and his brother are looking at setting up a mini-business thingy supplying basic exhaust bits, like centre sections, decats and eventually manifolds (Both intake and exhaust).
They will probably be cast iron, but I guess we could look into getting stainless too if there's enough interest. All the tubes are going to be mandrel bent.
It will be loads cheaper than manifolds usually are. I'm fitting my centre section soon and i'll make sure I get a video up of how it sounds etc.
Hope everyone is alright!
Clarkey.

Most recent quote for a Cupra was £3700 odd for 12 months. So I'll be waiting a while!
I'm leaving the country in a month or 2 anyway!

i was going to buy a mk2 leon with btcc kit on it and load of other toys for just over £10K but i could not justify taking out a loan for the car. i will probably keep this 1.4 as a cheap run about and have a nicer car once im getting properly paid (im only on £14k atm)

Mine's only lowered by 40mm, and round town is fine, speed bumps fine... but because I live in the country too, the worst thing is bloody pot holes in our crap country roads and also going onto grass verges suddenly when coming face to face with a tractor!!! ha!

Although, it's definitly worth it, am getting loads more fun on the twisting country roads with the stiffer suspension set up!

aint you all got cupras yet lol

lol, i was in the process of selling my beautiful 1.4 beast...

but insurance companies were quoting me stupid prices for anything else for some reason! Even cars which were lower or the same insurance groups and non modified! [:@]

My own insurers said on the phone they couldn't believe the price they gave me that i've got at the min with my history and my age!! :funk: ha!

So am waiting a year, get one years no claims, do a bit of saving, then hopefully getting a 1.9tdi leon which I've fallen in love with after test driving one a few days back!

yea insurance is weird isnt it!

well my baby is now in the body shop
she's getting her arches cut as we speak to get rid of the rust that was appearing.
then tomorrow she is having her skirts painted and fitted, allong with the colourcoding of the bumpers and a cupra spoiler....

should be interesting to get her back and see what she looks like.

Sounds sweet Adam.
I was just about to sort out my random patch of filler on the front bumper (Tramp-style) and some **** has put a huge scrape in it, at the far end of Tesco carpark!
I'm jus
t going to jack it in and get a new one, maybe use the old one for a smoothing project?

Got my Cupra shocks on today! Still not as smooth as when I had standard shocks and springs, but at least pot holes etc aren't as bad. instead of a massive thud, it's a gentle bump

to be honest i think it looks as good as a cupra now , maybe the front bumper isnt the best but hey it looks good.

its so nice to have her back, as she's been in the body shop all last week then she was in another garage getting her clutch and cambelt done over the weekend.
