how come you would have a problem? length of cable?

I'm running a smaller battery so unsure if it's going to have a problem starting the car. Length of cable is not a problem.

have you got a layout / diagram of how you're wiring it from the boot? i want to do the same, and cant figure out how to do it

Chris, it's pretty simple. I've just earthed it in the boot, then to the negative on my battery. The from the positive, ran a connection to the front of the car(with an inline fuse) into a distribution block. Then from that i'll have one cable going to the starter motor and one to the fuse box that's located on top of the original battery in the engine bay.
I don't thing the 16v had the fuse box so i doubt you'll have to run one to that.
If you need a diagram i can draw something up for you.

You'll be after my job soon :funk: then i can just watch and drink more tea

I'll let you do my battery relocation in a couple of weeks while i commence surgery ;)

Haha! Bolting the battery up was the hardest bit! Just waiting on some terminals now and it's ready to go! I don't mind doing yours mate, you do enough for me!

I will just say what everyone else has. The car looks great. Cant believe how clean the engine and bay actually is!!

And I have to agree, it does look very oem. It looks like that car could have came out the factory like that.

And what surgery would that be?? :p Sounds like someone has something, or a few things up there sleeves.

Cheers:) I'm glad i went for black silicone now instead of red.

I think the red rocker cover kinda draws you awat from all the dirt! I'll be happier once i get a polished inlet manifold and the battery is out!

As Ben has said. I'll update the thread if and changes happen:)

It's unconfirmed at the moment but there "may" be some changes coming soon, im sure updates will follow if it goes ahead :)
I'll always update the thread, i'm sad!

I'll get something drawn up and PM it to you.

I'm using 4 AWG, same as RobDon and PhilW, using a 300AMP fuse.

Nice work indeed. Love the battery fair play in that position.

Couple of q's, what size of the cooler pipework from the turbo and where did you get it from?

thats tiny!!!

if you dont mind me asking how many benjamins that set you back?

Battery was £70 and the bracket was about £20 from America.

Cheers Phil. I only mounted it there as i didn't want to lose the spare wheel.

Intercooler pipework is 51mm. I just got a spare charge pipe and a local guy cut the lugs off, welded it up for me and supplied the rest of the alloy. All the silicone if from Forge. A local metal suppliers should be able to sell you a length of pipe though.

that look proper sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet mate realy like it!

Thanks Rich. Just hope it starts!

Connected the battery up today, and removed the one in the engine bay. The air filter now sits better (just got to make a bracket up for it) but i'm overall happy!

Waiting on some terminal adaptors, then got to source a catch tank. There's still a lot to tidy up but here's a few pictures:
