moving on to front end next, then brake bleed and pop 'er on to a set of wheels

First the GOOD news:

engine now turns the back wheels, got some cold start & idle mapping done, so it sorta starts on the button now (bit lumpy, but its a start)

And now the BAD news:

the MSA have banned it!!!! DOH!!!!

oh well, at least i can chuck all the ballast out, and throw on the biggest turbo i can fit - new target +650 bhp............:funk:

Banned it why?

I guess now it's just going to be for fun & generally seeing if you can do whole laps of a circuit leaving 11's all the way round?

In a nutshell, what the MSA told us / published in Bluebook

K37 rules from 01 Jan 2009, including outer pannels in original material
(i.e. steel) and max transmission tunnel mods to FIA appendix drawing.

Cat3 cars (i.e. heavily modified production cars like mine) allowed if they
meet current tech / safety regs at the MSA's discretion.

That should not have been a problem, as only introduced next year.

What they didnt tell anyone / publish was that their "discretion" from 2007, was that they were effectively applying K37 rules to Cat3 cars from that point on.

As my car doesnt meet the wing material and tunnel mod limits, i'm out..........

I think that Pauls car stands in the same grey area as does mine.At the moment the way it reads that no parts can be changed excessively like the above but can be inspected and passed by the MSA to get it logged booked.
I know that Andy Burton has given up on his latest project because of K37 and I really hope that the 2010 rule is cleared up quickly, because ive spent too much time and money doing my car over the last few years to be told that al it can be used for is hillclimbs or sprints:(

:( thought so
