Without a restrictor in the boost gauge line, the gauge responds instantly to changes in boost pressure, flicking up/down very quickly. With the restrictor fitted, the needle moves more smoothly and drops more slowly. Does that make sense, Vidar?

Thank you Dave, that makes sense. What can this restrictor be or look like and be placed?

A disc of metal or plastic a little larger in diameter than your silicon hose with a hole drilled through the middle. the hole will be about 0.5-1.0 mm in diameter.

The up-market ones might be fitted into a leg of a T-piece.

Best fitted as close as possible to the gauge, I think

The small broken piece is rusty because it's been hanging in the strut for a few days.

(I'm soaked, it's been pissing down this afternoon).

It is a clean break guys, I can hold them together and not see any join.
