Yeah i think you would be lucky to pick up a cupra in good condition, you would probably get one off this site, i think most mk3 owners take alot of pride in thier cars (well i do!)
I must admit the mk4 is really growing on me still not convinced with the rear end tho, think its the lights! saying that i think the mk4 cupra diesel would be a good buy, since its more efficent (MPG).
Don't know if you have seen some of the concept cars in the mk 5 forum, but it doesn't look promising for the future of the ibiza, lol :D

now i've always liked the rear of the mk4 (well i say "like", its the best part of the car lol - not that that means its good)

always prefered the front of the mk3! looks more aggresive ;)

I think the mk3 is a much better looking motor all round, especially the interior its nicer inside than some audi's of the same year.
I think even if you got one and it wasn't in good condition it would still make a great project car.....
Come on mk3!!! :p
If i were to get another i think i'd get one with mods saves alot of time and effort..... and cash if its done properly!

yeh unfortunately.. ive got my old suspension lying around if anyone wants to take it off me!

You said you thought the Cupra suspension is the same as the 1.6? As in fitment or are shocks are the same as well.

Might take the suspension you have off your hands. How much would you want for it? I will probably have to get a courier to get it if I do take them off your hands as it's a fair distance!!

indeed. The mk4 FR i was looking at already had been remapped and custom exhaust system. It needed handling mods on it tho! obviously didnt get it in end. just gonna wait until this car dies on me or i can afford summat better :D

Since i'm another 1.4 ibiza lad i guess i should post this question here....

i have 17's on my beautiful car, what's the lowest springs you reckon i could go for? or, if not the lowest, the best performing for 17's?

cheers.

dropping on just springs is not the best idea.
when dropping on springs you push the shock damper out of its normal working area. doing this causes an unnatural wear and shortens the life of the shocks drastically. your much better spending a few more ££ on some cupra / cupra r shocks & springs.

dont bother putting a cupra engine in a 1.4 or 1.6 there are so many mods you need to do to get it able to cope with the extra power and speed.

also it would be more hefty on your insurance trying to insure a heavily modified 1.4 will be more expensive that insuring a cupra.

ha, only just noticed this thread-great idea! Cupra owners may have the power, but are they getting upwards of 40 mpg? Or cheap tax? I think not!

I believe I've made my point :p lol!

60 bhp FTW!
