Right guys, my new key came this morning and low and behold......

It don't work!!! :cry::cry:

It's a 1J0 959 753 CT key (434).

Anyone got this key working on a 2001 or older Toledo or Leon?

I know one of the guys on this thread had a HLO 1JO 959 753 N working with a '99 toledo.

If not, anyone interested in buying a brand new 1J0 959 753 CT key? £30 delivered?

PM's please...

i didnt get a spare key when i bought the car, so there's no real cheap way to do this for me is there? i'm gonna have to get the lil transponder thing from seat :S i've been quoted £140 for a new key, has anyone done this WITHOUT having a spare key to get the chip from? cheers for the help :)

jimothy, i bought a standard remote key from a seat dealer and it was £53 fitted/programmed. im sure that you could get a non remote one from a dealer and programmed for less, then just buy a flipkey of ebay and use the crappy key as the doner

ive removed the screw from the key part but i cant split it in half any ideas? Im cant remove the blade either, any advice?

Do you not have the key in half or the top bit in half?

If it's the latter - stick a decent sized screwdriver in. You will see a groove that you can put the screwdriver in. Twist it and it'll prize it off. :)

If you havent got the key in two - flip the key up and stick a decent sized screwdriver in the gap you can see and do the same! :)

Theres only ever two tools you'll need in life: screwdrivers and persuaders. :D

have you got yours working yet?

No not yet, I'm looking at a couple of the 'N' keys on ebay at the minute. Missed out on a right deal tho: Excellent condition key and blank blade. Went for a tenner. Gutted.....

I think yours is working OK cos your toledo is newer. Mine is a 2001 model, which, according to a list in this thread somewhere, qualifies for the older keys..

According to this list:

Hi, this is only my second post after my 'hello I'm a noobie' post in the new members area. Just to say thanks for the help this thread gave me, I didnt even have to ask any questions, the answers were all there after I read the entire thread! Just for peoples information and if it helps anyone else. I have a 54 reg leon tdi se, the original remote key was the usual hella marked as 433mhz. I bought a vw flip key part number ending 'ag' marked as 434 mhz made by hella. I followed the instructions in my users manual, the turn key whilst pressing unlock button method, a couple of times with no success. But I realised that you have to complete the entire process in 30 seconds INCLUDING taking the other key out of the ignition! Worked first time once I did that, but there was no horn sound or beep or anything like that, it just worked. Anyway, many thanks to everyone who contributed.

Im on ebay just now looking at the flip keys.

I rather like the Audi flip kay opposed to the vw, seat and skoda one.

Would this work? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-KEY-FOB-...ryZ10372QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

My original key 433 mhz.

I have the 2 button seat non flip key, would a 3 button flip key also work or would I defo need the 2 button one?

Seat quoted me £30 plus vat to program the key but id give a go at doing it myself.

I got a 3 button one for my cordoba and it works fine, the boot button just does nothing when you press it.

AKTP2

• VW - Audi - Seat - Skoda 1998 Models On
• Transponder
• Megamos Crypto
• T6 ID48(MG10) Glass
• AD100/MVP Programmable

Cheers amigo!!! Will look into it right away!!!

Well, I contacted "Hickley Valtone" more than 3 times so far and they haven't yet responded to me... All I need is 2 x AKTP2... Maybe it's the fact that I'm from Greece and they just won't ship to Greece? What can I say...

If anyone from you guys can supply me 2 x AKTP2 (virgin/new), I'll greatly appreciate it!!! I mean, if someone could buy those from "Hickley Valtone" and them send them to me. I'll pay him/her using PayPal (cost for buying from "Hickley Valtone" + shipping to the UK + shipping to Athens/17675/Greece). Any volunteers? :help: :help: :help:

I also ordered 2 x "1J0 837 246 F" (the "half" of the key that has the actual blade and the transponder/chip) from http://www.vagproduct.com... Anyone knows this thingy ("1J0 837 246 F")? :help: :help: :help:

http://www.vagproduct.com/vagparts.htm, then to "Brand New Key Blade"

It works!!!!

Wooohoooo!!!!!

So, it seems if anyone has a toledo 2001 or older, you need the N key.

Just need to get it cut now. Anyone know of anywhere in the huddersfield, west yorks area that will do it?
