Damn... :(

What key numbers do you have on ur old keys?

Are they the same frequency? i.e. 433, 434 etc.,?

Does the central locking work OK? If so, I'll buy one and swap the chip over from my spare. :)

Right - did your alarm blip when you did it?

I didnt use the transponder in the key - i took it out and used to spare transponder out of the spare key obviously.

I'm just gonna explain how I've done it before.

Put your non flip remote key in the ignition. Turn ignition on (I put the drivers window down incase it all went tit's up). Leave ignition on and lock the doors with new flip key (put the key actually in the door and turn it manually to lock it)

With the ignition still on and the doors locked - press the unlock button on your new flip key. The horn will blip. Press it again 6 seconds later and the key is now set. But if you try to unlock the car it won't work! You need to take the old key out of the ignition first. Then press the new key and it will work.

I got really confused cos the horn blipped and pressed it 6 seconds later - tried to unlock the car with the old key in the ignition and it wouldnt work. Couldnt get my head around it. Took the old key out and it worked.

Hope this might help. If not sorry for repeating what's already been said. :(

Ash.

Where did you get you key cut?

VW mate. Bristol Road in Bridgwater. Obviously on the A38.

They supplied the blade and cut it for a tenner. If you have the blade though - Timpsons seem to be the place to go. Timpsons are in Sainsburys in town.

I went to Timpsons asking to supply and cut a blade. They couldnt supply one.

Basically - ordered the flip key and a brand new blade on ebay at same time. Key came next day - new blade has arrived today. 1 week 1 day later (meant to be first class!)

So if you need a blade I've got one spare! :D

wierd.timpsons couldn't cut mine, and VW only charged 3 quid to cut mine. bargainatious

My local SEAT dealership is an Arnold Clark.

1. They won't know what I'm asking when I ask for it.
2. They won't have a clue on the price.
3. Once they give me a price, they'd forget to add the VAT.

They're absolutely useless up here, 3 minutes and £5 later it was done at a local Timpsons - he did warn if he snapped or damaged it he wouldn't take responsibility.
