does anyones cupra feels twitchy at the rear? when going round corners at speed or braking slightly on a bend the rear ends seems to feel very light and when i pulled off the other day racing from the lights i changed into second just going round a corner which put the car into a spin with the car side on and required opposite lock both ways to control it! it was quite a scary moment! thought the cupra was a gonna! would spacers cure this?

hey, When i didnt have spacers on my back end would feel twitchy especially when breaking from high speeds-would feel like the back end was kicking out, havent had this problem since the 20mm spacers have been put on, dnt think it would cure going around corners quickly without back end tring to spin out, i've still got standard suspension aswell so would of thought an upgrade would be better aswell.

Mines got 20mm spacers on and can still be twitchy at times, the Cupras are twitchy anyway imo.

try removing your spacers pete to remind yourself how twitchy they are as std..

20mm rear spacers will make the rear feel relatively quite planted

Really that bad eh? I was comparing mine (with spacers) to the Golfs, even with my spacers it feels twitchy compared to them. No spacers must be quite scary then!

They are quite bad yeah! the slightest jab on your brakes going into a corner will send the back end out! soon as i knocked it into second when going round a corner it upset the traction and sent me sideways! i wouldnt advise you to try it standard.

*ahem* there is some good advise to do your braking in a straight line before the corner.
tcs cutting in and you wont be able to save it in a 1/2 spin - very scarey

early days of owning mine and found this out.

ibiza is 35mm narrower rear than front. combination of its mongrel bits n pieces build. 1.8t up front in mk2/3 golf subframe etc and polo rear end.

add some 15 or 20mm rear hubcentric spacers and rear stability is improved a lot. cheapest chassis mod you will do on an ibiza

Christ. Golf does feel lardy and heavy yeah so no wonder it sticks to the road.

golfy suspension has more travel than an ibiza's and makes for a nice b-road car. lardy and roly poly, but also nicely sorted by some firmer arb's, springs and dampers.
my old golfy was nice road car, ibiza is pogo stick in comparison, suspension travel being different, significant weight differences between them and track width differences in favour of golf.
