THS Intercooler fitted :)

When i first saw the THS design coolers, I thought they were the same as the E-bay jobbies, but on closer inspection the core is of a better qulaity on the THS items, the fin design is lot more dense and thinner, which all points the right direction, the 'bars' in the coor are also slightly smaller, and more of them..

The end tank design mated to a core as small as the THS type 1 isnt as important as on a larger intercooler, as it will fill the whole thing (forced induction basics).. however dweel time, pipe diameter and placement will be critical.

3" on a turbo as small as the K03/K03s/K04 is too big. FACT, as it will reduce flow speeds.

THS will be better than std, but how much better is the question.. and for them money if it is better (how much better dependent), logs to prove would be good..


The car feeling better can be the result of a few things:

1). The car actually being better!
2). The car being laggy, so when it does come up on boost, it feels quicker.

so could this be the reason why im only running 201 bhp with my mods see sig, but 232lbs feet torque is it down to my 3" pipe diametre and length

at the end of the day the THS intercoolers look good, make fitting very easy as they are small and easier to mount, and most of all they do work and are cheap obviously its going to be better than the standard intercooler, no disrespect to any of you guys who have forge intercoolers but you have them because you can afford them and want to treat your car, and to those of us who are only willing to pay around £200 - £300 for a front mount then fair enough as long as it works there aint no issues, so fair play to anyone with one of the cheaper intercoolers i fink they look good and work well

Im with david all the way on this one. This cooler is the worst looking out of all of them and hasnt had any logs although the people who got them constantly say "logs on the way"

No point beatin round the bush tho is there. People are always too polite of forums which defeats the object of giving your opinion on things.

Honest is always the way, but to be rude and blunt isnt really in the spirit is it? So, does anyone actually have any logs then? - I have just finished fitting my THS type 2.. so keen to see what the type 1 does in regards to inlet temps etc..

Great, that will prove something then.. I cant see it being worse than the std intercooler, especially after a prolonged rag, where the Std item is performing at its worse..

My prediticion, provided the boost pipes are no bigger than 60mm that there will be a fair gain. then we can get a comparision going with come of the more pricey/ 'highly developed' FMIC's.. One way to sort it out hey

I think it looks great mate and for that kinda cash all in its very good value imo

I just hope the logs are good and all the doubters will finally be satisfied.

I will be buying one if the logs are good so fingers crossed

wat the f**k are sum of these guys on, i fink the ths intercoolers look great especially for the cash, tbh i fink all thoses who have spent silly money on forge and real samco are just gutted that "possibly" it may get similar gains for a few hundred quid less, i only say possibly cus like people are arguin there aint no logs but they cud well be surprised, at the end of the day everyone has own tastes and requirements so it dnt really matter what they fink

who said anyone is doubting the cooler? and who said it wont be better than standard? (imo it will but by how much compared to.....)
like i said before, alot of things getting thrown around.
All were asking is logs before people start "reccomending them to a friend"
and like i have also said, it may prove to be good, but it may prove to be a waste of time and their are other "custom" coolers in similar price ranges that might work alot better, so why not recommend them instead??

i completly understand what your saying, thats why i havent ever commented on how well the cooler performs or recomended it to any one. hope the logs show an improvement but like i said im not expecting it to compare to the expensive coolers, just want it to be good for the money i spent
