remap 110 against octavia vrs

Stuart even in its current tune its not going to be that quick with only 147bhp
My cupra did not feel especially fast with 150bhp until it was mapped to 185 on Monday and even then its good but not what I would call rapid

on a different note. The police don't tune their cars. They are stock. The only mods apart from the obvious, are removal of rear leather seats sometimes, or changing the gearbox, so reverse can be selected while traveling forwards.

cc arnt the only well known turners that have done this. ive heard its the norm for certain police units.

i just hope the fire brigade dont hear about it;)

that might be the case with one or two forces. but not all. So cant just say police in general as thats incorrect. cc has not got a contract for "police" bold statment and incorrect one. :p

Allow me to point out the "generalisation" you made......
The police don't tune their cars. They are stock.....
Which force was this in relation to again? or was it "The Police"?

I think the majority of people would not go to the effort of specifying which force they had contact with, but just refer to them as the police?
You said in one comment "The police don't tune their cars, but you never said which force, which may have included all of the forces?
I'm aware that not all forces have a ECU remap on their cars, and i would very much doubt that CC did them all if they were all remapped.
I'm pretty sure none of the local patrol cars around here are mapped as i haven't seen any on the roads for god knows how long, so its debateable if they even drive these days :shrug:

Although I only drive a 'low torque petrol car' :D, would agree with the comments about getting your car dyno tested at a minimum of two rolling roads to get an idea of the true power and torque of your set up. I.e. take the average as most accurate.

When I had my car as standard it made 229 PS at Jabba. When custom remapped at Jabba and sporting just a simple cone air filter it later made 274 PS - even on a day when the ambient temp was around 21 deg C with 95 octane in the tank.

Since then I have modded further with a 3" down pipe & sports cat (ceramic coated) and a cat back all from Piper. I also got the Jabba induction kit with a heat shield.

Went to Awesome in Manchester the other day, and with the ambient at about 15 deg C and a tank of Tesco 99 octane she made 276 PS. So that's a gain of just 2 hp for all those mods apparently!

Of course adding all that kit is going to see more than 2 hp gains, what's clearly the case is that Jabba's RR is not an identical set up to Awesome's and they are operated by different people.

The chances are that one reads a little high and the other maybe a little too low. So what the actual PS is I will never know for sure. I will probably use the same RR when trying to determine the relative gains as the car is modded, and use as many different RR's and take the average when attempting to determine the absolute true value.

As for the quality of Jabba's workmanship - excellent! As for their RR - maybe reading a little on the high side I think!
