has any one removed this as i presume it would have to come of to remove the sub frame mine is lc not "r" but i would have thought this bit would be the same.

need a guide anyone

Mine's an LC too. You can see from my pictures that the subframe can drop/remove without taking the lower brace off.

The subframe is held in by four bolts, two front, two rear. You need to take out the bolts that hold the steering rack to the subframe, leaving the rack hanging. Also need to take out the forward two dogbone mount bolts.

I did mine on the Golf mate, and the wishbone is the opposite way around to the Leon, by the looks of it. However, I would say looking at the pic that your nut will be sat on top of the subframe somewhere. If youre in a rush, get yourself a new nut from the place you got your wishbones, just to get it towed mate.

If you can be arsed spending time under your car for a while its just a case of trying your best. try to get someone to help, as an extra set of eyes and hands are a god send when your cold and pissed off!!

The front wishbone bolts through the subframe. You may have to drop / remove the subframe to sort this.

hi do you know that pic you sent on this thread of the subframe. is the subframe still handy as sound silly but a pic of the other way around (with the anti roll bar on the floor) would be a great help as looking at it that way around make it look like i could stick a nut on the back of it but i think im looking at the wrong hole as i carnt get to the back of mine. thanks

It's not hard to drop the subframe. It shouldn't be hard to get the damage to the threaded portion repaired.
