how do you know the kit your ordering has the metal impellar for the water pump
as this is vital when doing the cambelt/pump job

i've asked kez this as he has the ecs kit on his lcr
just seems like your paying for the name for me

i wont be bothering with ecs kit over OE unless i got some decent reasons to

There's no F in Quality..
the ECS kit is all OE parts, including a waterpump with a brass impellor, for £170.

the same parts from a main dealer will cost you £250.

I have just had the main dealer prices confirmed as above, and also the labour charge is approx £300...... for 4 hours work. But this is approx, as they have said it depends on how many problems they encounter when doing the work, seized bolts etc.

* OE tensioner assembly made by NTN-Japan
* OE Idler roller (comes on the tensioner assembly)
* Hepu water pump with metal impeller
* Conti-Tech accessory drive belt
* Behr thermostat
* ECS/OEM motor mount bolt kit
* Camshaft seal
* Crankshaft seal

The equivalent kit from the main dealer is:

06A121012X Water Pump With Sealing Washer
06B109119A Toothed Belt

this was probably for just the belt and tensioner...... I'm guessing by the price.....

My girlfriends brother works as a technician for skoda, so he's going to sort it all out for me. Don't know exact part details but he said it will be all sorted for £139, with £100 being labour

go with oem items i would say

think prices are £300 give or take £50 for a good supply, and fit including water pump

as posted earlier, my local main dealer had quoted £520+ for supply and fit of just the cambelt and tensioners etc, without the waterpump !!!!

mind you, they're rip off merchants.... they wanted £200 to change a front wheel bearing on my LCR, when the other closest dealer only wanted £85 !!! :lol:

you're welcome mate ;)

I had it all on a spreadsheet, as I've been costing it all up over the last couple of months in preparation for getting mine done!!! ;)

I just need to find somewhere to fit the ECS kit now.... all the local VAG Dealers will only fit their stuff.

There are a couple of local VW Specialists that I'm going to try ringing today.
