Done a search...not really found the appropriat answers.

My insurance on my Ibiza Cupra is due for renewal in few weeks, and i just wondered what sort of premium i can expect.

I'm currently with Adrian Flux and pay £2900 with all mods declared.
I will hopefully have 1yrs NCB at time of renewal.

How much can i expect the insurance cost to drop by with 1yr NCB?

At present, it's looking as though the car maybe garaged for a few weeks untill i save up the sum to pay it all off :(

Just having a look on confused at the moment, but it always comes out more expensive for me!

Yeh i will do. Once i get my NCB i'll begin to phone around.

How much you paying if you don't mind me asking? Yrs NCB? Experience?

I seem to pay alot more than most on this site which annoys me. I'm 20yrs old, have a professional career and 2yrs previous driving experience but had a habit of selling my cars and changing policies before i gained any NCB's.
I have no convictions/penalties and full license with Pass Plus.

So god knows why i have to pay such high premiums compared to others.

I think for £2900 I'd just go for thrid party!! That's so expensive! I was 21 with no NCB when I got my cupra, and I'd just written off my previous car (£2300 claim) and I paid about £1000...

i pay 1600 with 1 yrs no claims an im 19.

Who you insured with Jacko?
You seem the closest match to myself, i.e. age, NCB etc.

Thanks everyone....you've all now made me more annoyed!!! lol.

I've paid £2900 to insure the same cars you lot are all driving!!!

I used to pay £2600 on my 225bhp 106gti.

Confused.com guarantee's on TV they will return the lowest prices, but they've just quoted £2200 as the cheapest, which is cheaper tha im paying, but i was hoping to get down to £1800 ish.

Right then it's not rocket science it's car insurance and you need to learn how to play the game.

Firstly take as much risk away from the insurance company as possible.......

1) Make sure it is stored on your drive/in the garage.
2) Make it unmodified.... sorry I did just say that.
3) Put some nasty immobiliser system on the car that is insurance approved and installed by an insurance registered company.
4) Try putting your Misses/Mum/Auntie/Friends Mum/Dog/Cat/gold fish, hell anybody with a clean driving licence on the policy as a named driver.
5) Don't get points, by doing stupid things.
6) Sounds daft, however invaluable, DON'T CRASH. If you do make sure it's only a nudge and can be fixed with a swift £300 bung instead of going through the insurance company.

These are all things that can help younger drivers to decrease their premiums.

Next the hard bit, put on a ski mask/dark glasses/big hoddie/Grandads Wig/paint on tash and go to your local newsagents and buy MAX POWER.
There I said it, feel all dirty now  (yes your Grans Lovely dress and blouse if you must )

Now get to the insurance bit at the back and ring all the companies.
Tell each one that your renewal is due and you have been told it will be ............... Think of a number you fancy paying and let them try and match it or come close at least.

Do this lots of times, each time using a real quote the next time but removing £100 or so until they all start coming back with similar numbers.

Are you still here? I said ring all the companies

Good Luck.

Steve. :D

Steve...lol thanks for advice, your point are valid but i do try most which are said. My ownly downfall maybe that i don't try enough different companies, in the past i had phoned 3/4 companies then taken the cheapest or most appealing quote.

Another thing is...i was very impressed with the service from Adrian Flux when i had my heavily modified 106gti, and i just simply assumed they'd be the best to insure me on my Cupra. How wrong could i be!
But still, how many people really know what level of service you will get if you ever do make a claim?

I shall certainly put more effort into getting a cheaper quote when is due for renewal in a few weeks, and hopefully save a few more pennies. By the sounds of it, i should be able to save alot compared to the £2900 lump sum i paid for my current policy.

Endsleigh have just quoted me £1800 which is a great improvement!!! :)
