Right as i went for a cheaper performance alternative last weekend and stripped the back end of the ibiza out i can honestly say i did notice some difference. However, now with it needing a new clutch, pedal box needs drilling as it wont stop clicking, speedo not working, petrol gauge not working and the reverse light not working at all, i couldnt help but think "God why me!".

But my conclusion was i didnt care cause i love my car and i wouldnt have it any other way. It's about the only car i have owned where i get in it drive around and it puts a grin on my face. Not cause its the fastest car or it looks the best (espically with the vented chav bonnet that needs to go) i just dont know exactly want it is about the ibiza. Anyone got an idea?

I want a newer/faster car but i just cant face selling the ibiza

I couldnt bear to sell my car for ebay prices, immaculate body, clean strong engine - for sale at £1250 - i dont think so - but now i seem tied to it forever as its not worth selling for silly money as you would have to spend loads more to get a better car! What shall we all do? when will they start to go up in value! lol!

HIDs arriving soon - that'll boost the value... not

for me i realised thats what it falls down to ...the cost! the car is fast, modern-ish, and cheap. you know that if you buy a golf/polo their twice the price for half the value  i would love a mk3 cupra but at that price c'mon man my 150horses are enough, i would love a mitsubishi FTO but the insurance will kill me even more even though the cars cheap.

Agreed. I sold my old 1.4 ibiza to a family member that lives with, that way i could still keep an eye on her lol. It was a sad day afew weeks ago when the car was collected my the insurance company as it was written off.
Ive got a cupra but want more power and cant bear to sell the ibiza. Guess ill have to drop an engine in her lol.

I seem to be stuck in the same boat, lol. When I sold my 1.4 beeza, nothing appealed to me apart from ..........yet another beeza. Now I'm doing my final bike test in a months time, I really need to get a practical car instead of the valver because as a student I couldn't afford running a valver as well as a superbike. but only other car I can think of getting is yet again.................another 1.4 Ibiza. Unless I started dealing some serious drugs and then I could afford running them both :mobile:

Trick is to stay on top of all the small problems and get them fixed asap. I'm always popping into SEAT Cheshunt for little bits, just to keep it in good nick and looking healthy.

Better than spending £200 a month on a new car that depreciates £x,xxx a year!

This is my 2nd mk2 Ibiza after having a 1.4. Mk3 Cupra will be my next one ...soon as I've just sold my flat :) 200bhp finally!

Mine is also a little 1.4 but im happy with it. It has enough power etc for me just now and is also cheap to run and gives me the chance to save for a mk3 cupra!

It may have 97,500 miles on the clock but its still going strong!!

I just cant face selling it, i will probably just drop another engine in it when the 1.4 decides to die!
