Trick is to stay on top of all the small problems and get them fixed asap. I'm always popping into SEAT Cheshunt for little bits, just to keep it in good nick and looking healthy.

Better than spending £200 a month on a new car that depreciates £x,xxx a year!

The point above I totally agree with: I could spend £2/300 per month buying a newer car, but why bother? It doesn't have to be new to be fun (although that sometimes depends on how fun you think a spanner is!:cartman:)

Been having intermittent ignition problems, and been REALLY hacked off with it lately but honestly, even if (sorry, when!) it cuts out at the moment, I can get it going again with just a multitool, and should have it sorted in a couple days, and I'm getting to enjoy fixing up the simpler bits.

Every month there seems to be something wrong but despite this, I don't think there's many better options at the same running costs. 8 valver has enough pace in town, is fun (but admittedly the slowest) at a trackday, can happily do a festival road trip, and 38 mpg on the dualler? Why would you need to sell it? :D

I seem to be stuck in the same boat, lol. When I sold my 1.4 beeza, nothing appealed to me apart from ..........yet another beeza. Now I'm doing my final bike test in a months time, I really need to get a practical car instead of the valver because as a student I couldn't afford running a valver as well as a superbike. but only other car I can think of getting is yet again.................another 1.4 Ibiza. Unless I started dealing some serious drugs and then I could afford running them both :mobile:

Well my 1.4 is up for sale now - i'm getting a Gti :D
