Hi,

I got my 2005 Leon Cupra R around 3-weeks ago and been loving it.
It's only done 22k miles now and has Revo Stage 1, Green Panel filter and a Forge 007p DV.

When I got the car it was running fantastic and pulled strongly and really threw me back in my seat.

Over the last week the performance has gone downhill to what I can say only compares to a standard car I have driven only difference being mine has a tad more punch when the turbo kicks in. (and I do mean slight).

Anyway, I toook the car to JKM down in portsmouth who were fantastic and very helpful.
Car had 3-runs on the Dyno and only managed 228.4bhp at best and 230 ftlbs of torque !
(with Revo)

Check with VAG Com, not a single fault code, fueling correctly, was running on Optimax etc.

No logs on Vag-Com suggested boost leaks as the request boost was virtually matched by the actual on the logs.

Only thing it did show was a massive surge of boost at 3800rpm which very very quickly came down. I will post the dyno plot later

Where has my performace gone ?
Any ideas all as JKM were not 100% sure either ?

P.S. It's not the figures on the rollers that worried me it's the drop in performance and belive me it's noticeable, the rollers just showed the power it was making.

tried an ecu reset?

what setting you running? boost and timing? may be worth making these more conservative.
its been hot aint it? could be holding back which wouldnt necessarily show any faults.

other things to try, runing with the maf unplugged.

are you sure that whoever loaded the revo map onto your car didn't load up the free trial by mistake?

i have a very similar issue mate, was just too chicken to post up.

i have full turbo back blueflame exhaust, 4 bar FPR and revo stg 1 (these mods were there when i bought it) but have managed 234 and 224 bhp on the rollers and i also get the big spike around 4k... i'm gonna investigate mine and if i discover anything i'll post up here.

Thanks to all who replied, honestly I appriciate it guys.

I did cross my mind funny enough. JKM said it has Revo on there though.

I am going to get a MAF log done though as some guys have mentioned.

The boost goes up to 1.7bar peaks then rapidly drops to 1bar before you know it. :(

Here are the print outs :(

In regards to the above, how do I do that (ECU Reset). Disconnect the Battery ?

Cheers

thanks mate, good post find.

I will give some of those ideas a go.

Although the figures on the dyno speak for themself as even JKM said it's quite low for a low milage car with revo etc.
Temperature, the crazy thing is the first 1.5 weeks I had the car it was hotter then than now. :-S very odd and also that was a 3hour drive on on the motorway.

It has been said the LCR ECU is very cleaver indeed and can adapt the settings. I think my car maybe taking over !! arrrgghh :)

I'd go for a battery disconnect (get your Radio Code first). It might send it away for a while, but it might come back.

If it's boosting to 1.7bar then dropping off, it might be dropping into soft limp, hence the boost dropping, but once it'd done this it wouldn't boost to 1.7 bar again.

If requested and actual boost are pretty close, and it's only requesting the 1 bar from 3750 (ish) there's something else wrong, and the car is adjusting its load parameters (I think) which is something that not many people at all understand. You'd need to be pestering JKM to speak to Revo for you - they'll be able to help.

thanks Phil, I forgot to mention the VagCom readings were done on the road whilst the guy took the car out for a spin.

Make sure ur DV is tighend up. I had this problem when i changed all my turbo hoses. i didnt twist the top of my splitter and it was leaking boost!!! 2 twsits and now it slammed my spine in to the back of my seat where it belongs!!

Worth a look if you have after market DV!

Doesnt revo still show as being on there after the free trial though ? Waiting to be activated like ?

Sounds wierd that no faults are showing and its near enough back to standard performance though.. Hope you sort it soon matey :)

Well I bought the car from a ex fourm member who had the car for a while and it had Revo on when he bought it. I think I could cancel the thought of it just having a trial due to a few facts like JKM mentioned the settings are correct and they even tweaked the boost slightly for me. Secondly it would of been a very long trial i.e. well well over 5-hours. Also the boost spike when it jumps to 1.7bar is just odd.

Well I want to say a massive thanks to everyone thats taken the time to reply etc. Top chaps.:funk:

Going to get some guys I know with Vag-com to do a MAF log. Do a double check on all hoses including the Forge 007p and maybe check the internals. Then do a ECU / TBA reset.

I will let you know the outcome

Cheers

Find someone who has an SPS and switch the Revo off - then see if there is a performance change. If it still feels like there is no change from before you turned the Revo off then this must surely point to Revo not being fully installed.

It just seems strange you are getting bhp which some people could get without a remap but with a few other performance parts.

my advice would be run more concervative settings. the shape of the graph says to me the ecu is holding back.

will be trying all the stuff above at the weekend but in reponse to your suggestion can a Revo dealer just alter them as I thought Revo Stage 1 was pretty much a pre-designed map for the LCR ?

Yes a dealer, or someone with an SPS3 can alter boost and timing.

JKM Would've spotted it if the settings were too high.
