Would I be correct in saying that resetting the ecu does not reset any remap? Only if a dealer flashes your ecu you will lose your remap?

Hi All,

I didn't have much time on Sunday so I thought I would try the ECU Reset by removing the Negative terminal off the battery etc.

I followed the instructions as given from a fourm member.

After it was complete I took the car for a drive, but took it steady.
After the engine was warmed up I took it round for a proper blast.............and blast it did !!! Wow.....back to how I remember it.

The car really pulled hard in every gear throwing me back in the seat and spinning up the tyres like a tarmac eating machine. You can hear that the car is holding the boost also and not dropping off as previously did. (remember as in my first post this isn't something just in my head or getting used to the car as when it was running slightly down it felt like a strd car and not a LCR with Revo.. Now it does again !!

As I explained before the car really lost a lot of power compared to how it drove around a few weeks ago. The car really has changed back to how I remember it. I took a mate out who has been in the car when I first got it running well and also been in the car when not really performing like it's chipped.
He agreed the difference is highly noticeable.

So, I don't know how long the car will run like it is now. I hope for quite some time to come unless the ECU starts adapting it's settings again.

Thanks all for your help.

also guys, since she is running like a dream now I have a question..........

Is it ok to put my car back on the dyno again so quickly?
Basically my question is.......... can too many sessions on the Dyno damage the engine ?

I want to see if its making the power it should be now, it certainly feels like it so I am tempted to ignore figures and just enjoy but part of me wants to see what the BHP / Torque output is now
