Hey all again.
Couple of things going wrong at the moment. omg it does happen at the same time doesnt it.
Firstly im not going to go about this becasue i have seen it on the forum elsewhere but that stuid polloution light is constantly on. Started the other day.
Secondly, i recently fitted a dump valve and new filter which doesnt fit 100% and now it makes a funny noise when i ease of the accelarator. not quite sure what that is. might need to get another one.
Lastly and the point of the thread is that only just recently, whenever i go over a small bump and manhole, there is a very tinny noise coming from underneath. Or what sounds like underneath. like tin bashing against tin. It is getting very embarrising now because i will accelarate sounding like a scooby and then hiss from the dump valve and then TIN TIN TIN from underneath. What on earth can it be. I though maybe it was exhaust. it doesnt happen all the time but it is getting worse. !!!!! please help:help:

most people haven't replied cos its not really something someone can answer with out having a look a rattle could be absolutely anything.
The only way to see is to get under the car your self and give everything underthere a good shake an see if its anything noticeably loose

I mean there might well be someone but one of the problems with Leons seems to be that there are a few creaks and rattle (which is annoying)

Yeah I had this also on my car, was really embarassing when stood still clatter, clatter clatter!

Take it to an exhaust place, they can have a quick look underneath to see if it is the bracket that has come off and knocking against exhaust

Did you put the new dump valve on before the light was constantly on?

the light comes on after i fitted both the induction kit and the Dump valve .
@ DPJ i dont think it was meant to be insulting

Which Dump Valve do you have fitted? Just wondering if you have a full on BOV on or not. If you have thats prolly why you are getting the light on dash.

Was that written so as to be insulting to as many forum members as possible?

I agree dave i waould say that is intended as an insult im sure theres something in the rules about that and given i was the only person to comment i would say it was a personal attack

Its not great but I don't think you will blow anything up. That light is on for a reason though so if anything, I would put the original bosh one back on for now.

Reset the ECU again and see if any of the MAFs work.... Even the original first as that might be ok now!!

The most popular valves for the 1.8 unit are the Forge 007 and the Forge Split R. The 007 is a full recirculation valve, where as the Split R was designed to give the engine enough recirculation to keep it happy and generate a whooshy noise too.

Browse the Forge section of the site mate or search for Dump Valve Noise.
