Dissconect Battery for 30 mins.

Reconnect

Ignition on with door and Bonnet open (this will allign the Throttle Body) Wait 30 secs (Don't touch throttle)

Start Car - Windows down and right up on the button to re-teach the stop points.

Everything electric on - This will teach the ECU what loads can be expected of it...Turn electrics off again.

Drive off and see if the dash lights come on again. If it runs ok, give it a bit of a blast too.

Long winded but thats how I was told to do it.

I wouldn't be too sure that it is completely down to the valve as he isn't reporting any limp mode and as always on here people think they know everything there is to know about BOV's and 1.8 t's.
They do still work but they CAN cause poblems, lots of people are running them with no problems at all.
Your best bet is to run the car over vag com that will no doubt shed more light on to the problem

It is a funny thing, the fact some people can get away with running a normal BOV without any problem at all .

I see you have the filter for sale.... Not sure that would do any harm. You could get away with that as many do.

It must have been the DV that cocked things up.

Out of interest, which MAF did you put back on??? Original one?
